I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at McDonald’s Kallangur today.
I went through the drive-through around 12:00 PM (lunchtime) and ordered two Happy Meals, a large double quarter pounder meal, a large crispy chicken meal, and a medium Big Mac meal. When I got to the window, the staff handed me all the drinks (including the medium Coke) and one bag of food.
The drive-through was busy, and my car was full of kids, so I didn’t check the bag until I got home. When I opened it, I realised the Big Mac and medium fries from the Big Mac meal were missing — I only received two large fries, the chicken, and the quarter pounder.
I called the store straight away, and they apologised and gave me a code to come back and collect what was missing. When I returned and went through the drive-through again, they asked me to wait in the waiting bay. After a while, a staff member (Claire, who said she was a manager) brought out just a Big Mac. I told her that I was also missing the medium fries, but she refused to give them to me and argued with me while I was sitting in my car, saying “this is all you’re getting.”
I explained that I paid for a meal, which includes the fries, but she continued to argue, ignored me, and went back inside.
I then parked and went inside myself to try and resolve the issue. By this point I was very upset, not calm, and felt truly embarrassed and humiliated, as everyone in the restaurant was staring at me while I tried to explain what had happened. I also asked them to check the cameras above their work area to confirm that no Big Mac and no medium fries were ever put in my bag. Another staff member overheard me and responded sarcastically, saying, “she is,” but nothing else was done.
Eventually, a male manager came out and helped me properly. He gave me the full meal I had originally paid for.
However, the whole experience left me upset, embarrassed, and unwell. Not long after leaving McDonald’s, I began feeling very sick and had to go to the hospital, where I was admitted and stayed for hours. I only got home around 7:15 PM — and I still haven’t eaten because of the whole ordeal. I have major stomach problems, and if I don’t eat by a certain time, I get very, very sick.
Overall, I don’t believe it’s the customer’s job to chase and fight for what they’ve already paid for. If a mistake is made — even if the customer is upset because of the situation — the manager should still resolve it professionally, not sit there arguing with a customer over a medium fries. That kind of behaviour is embarrassing, unnecessary, and completely unacceptable.
I hope McDonald’s takes this feedback seriously and ensures staff, particularly managers, treat customers respectfully and resolve mistakes properly, without making people...

However today ON MY SONS 8TH BIRTHDAY I was treated disgustingly. Long story short my order was messed up last week. I normaly have a few things wrong here and there but don't bother complaining as they do their best and i can see they are busy and i get it can be dofficult but this dayI spent $50 this particular day so I tried to call 10 times with no answer so the following day I spoke to a male manager who was simply lovely and agreed to replace my order I just had to mention my name. However today in the drive through Blake point blank refused said he can't do replacements through drive through which I said that's odd I was told to come to the window and mention my name he then got Grace the manager who in the end basically called me a lier saying I would have been given a code, and that she was the only manager on in the mornings and it didn't happen, which of course I did argue with, then then yelled at me and said well what do you want me to do!! I said I just want my replacement please I explained it to her she said we don't do $50 replacements! I'll replace one meal i said no that's not ok I paid alot more and out meals where wrong she was rude refused to help then said the male manager I was speaking about starts at 9.30am.. (funny how she said she was the only manager on in the mornings) I drove forward asked Blake for the managers name which he refused to give me and said nah don't know i said surely you know your managers name he replied with nahh don't know and slammed the window shut stood against the wall smirking at me so I drove forward. I since then spoke to another lovely staff member who gave me the managers name Grace and was apologetic. So thanks to Grace and Blake's disgusting and bully like service my sons birthday morning was ruined my children were so upset with how I was treated they felt so uncomfortable sadly due to these 2 nasty staff I will never go back. Read moreUpon entering the store we were not greeted. There was no staff member available to assist with self serve. The bins were full and overflowing. After ordering we tried to find a table to sit at - due to Covid the correct table setting plan was in place but all the tables with a green sticker were filthy, covered in food and unable to be sat at. We stood and waited for a while but it was clear that no one was coming to clear the tables. When we approached the counter to request a cloth to clean the tables, staff took a co side table time to respond to the request and then eventually a girl came to wipe down ONLY the table we wanted to sit at, leaving several other tables still dirty. She offered the excuse that they have been busy. We then waited quite a while for our order and when we finally received our meal (McFavourites box) it was missing nuggets. When we approached the counter for a second time to request the nuggets, the manager refused to acknowledge us, and eventually another manager came to serve us. When we stated that the nuggets were missing from our meal, the first manager aggressively threw a box of nuggets to the second manager who then slammed them down on the counter. When we then pointed out we hadn’t received sauce either, the sauces were also slammed down onto the counter. Overall the chips were too salty, the burgers were slopped together, there were chips all over floor, the grill was not being cleaned between special orders (no onions). While typing this feedback a second customer also just had to go and request a table be cleaned so that she and her family could sit down to eat their meal. The girl who came wiped down one table and when the customer requested she wipe the second table she was told that it wasn’t for use and shouldn’t have been used and refused to wipe it down, even though it was clearly covered in sticky sauce.
