Very disappointed with the management of this cafe. Ordered food at 9.46am. Last meal (5 of us) didn't arrive until more than an hour later. (10.51am) not only that but multiple tables who ordered after us were given their food first. Writing was on the wall when another couple, frustrated with waiting requested a refund and left. To add insult to injury, while one of our group was still eating, manager sent over junior wait staff (poor girl) to ask us to leave as the 11am booking had arrived. I could not believe the audacity and informed the 11am group that we wouldn't be moving due to waiting over an hour for our food and only received the last plate at 10.51. We have visited on a number of occasions prior without incident but this will be my last. One singular apology as we exited. I made sure to tell the manager that I was highly dissatisfied with the service and that (out of courtesy to him)I would be leaving a poor review. His response was "ok" Disappointing as we had guests visiting the Redlands and we felt like we had to apologise to them for the poor level...

The actual Thai chicken cakes were tasty, but to be honest, if I had realised they were not made and cooked fresh as opposed to just reheated, I probably would have tried something else. And unfortunately it seems most of their food lasagne etc is prepared the same way. Pre-cooked and sits in a refrigerated display case. While I understand how time-saving this is, unfortunately, items like chicken can end up being served as quite dry, which is how my meal was. Again, only my opinion, but I have found countless times that pre-cooked food, reheated, is not the best way to serve.
Pricing I felt was quite reasonable considering the area they...
Read moreWe went for lunch today and while the staff were pleasant, the food was definitely not value for money - $18 for a Caesar salad that comprised a lot of lettuce lettuce, extremely finely chopped cheese and bacon, so that it appeared non-existent and a hot egg. Oh it did have croutons. It was tasty, but I think that was the dressing as we couldn't taste the bacon or cheese. We also ordered a vanilla thickshake which was delicious, but it came in a regular glass size for $8.80. I've had larger shakes at other places for the same price. The Cafe seemed well frequented by the locals, but they all seemed to come out with some kind of coffee drink and no food. Since we don't drink coffee, I can't comment on that, but maybe that's their specialty and they should stick with making those and forget...
