Scoopy's Family Cafe — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

Was advised to come check out this place by families and friends as they all raved about how good it is, so went here for breakfast. Had booked a table, went to the counter they hadn't even reserved a table but there was plenty of spare tables so we just took one. There was 6 of us who ordered breakfast. Ordered breakfast 0904hrs, was advised there was a 30 minute wait for the food which was understandable. Got our drinks very quickly after 10 minutes. 40 minutes passed and our food still hadn't come despite numerous other customers who came after us and had already got their food. One of us from our group had gone up and asked the progress of our order, was told they are only just working on our order now. I walked down the road to the post office thinking by the time I get back the food would be ready. Get back to the Cafe, 1 hour has passed and our food still hadn't come yet the Cafe wasn't even busy, there was several empty tables One of us go back up to check on our order, this time they were rude and said our food hadn't even been started yet and that if we didn't like it we can just get a refund. Horrible! I got the fish special with chips, and the squid salad with a large gravy. At first glance I though it was going to taste amazing. I can not believe they use frozen fish when they’re right on the ocean... I ordered Cod and it was so mushy from being frozen I couldn’t eat it. It was almost as if it was bassa and not Cod. The dill in the crumbing is so over powering! The gravy was stone cold and had a weird taste to it. The squid salad was the worst thing about the entire meal, the squid was soggy and not crispy, tasted horrible. The salad comes with sweet chilli sauce all over it which is weird, I feel like it should come in a tub next to the salad and people can put it on if they want it. I personally didn’t like the combination of squid and sweet chilli.

The only thing that tasted amazing was the tub of tartare which isn’t even house made, a lot better than that squeeze packet of tartare the give you.

It’s disappointing because the reason why we went there was because it was packed and the line was huge so I thought they’d be decent since everyone is going there. Boy was I wrong. Never going back.

Ordered a Mocha on lactose free milk. Waited about 5-10 minutes - they were busy so it wasn’t an issue. An order for a cappuccino on lactose free gets called out several times. Nearly 10 minutes pass and I notice no one is going up to take it. Then I realise that it’s my order and they’ve accidentally made it wrong. So I go up and let the lady know that it’s incorrect. She then goes and stirs chocolate powder in through the top taking away all the foam, and hands it to me. Not only was it nearly cold it was partially ruined. I actually was in shock that she didn’t make a new one as it had been sitting there for quite a while and the order was wrong. I had already corrected them once and didn’t want to wait longer again for basic customer service.
