Sun Lai Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

Had a bad experience at this restaurant. Went there for dinner with my family and to be honest it was embarrassing. The service was absolutely awful from beginning to end and why we didn't get up and go is a mystery to me. We booked ahead for 4 adults and 1 child. We were placed on 2 separate tables pushed together which prevented us having a social evening due to the separation. We had to ask for more menus as they only gave us 3. Nobody came to take our order and eventually we chased down a young girl to take our order. The restaurant advertised a half caref of wine which they didn't have and were unable to offer a substitute. Half of the main meals ordered came out before the entrees ordered. When questioned re one entre, the young girl said we had not ordered one. She was non-apologetic and somewhat rude. After a considerable length of time we still had not received all our food and eventually the entrees arrived. We also ordered some soft noodles but despite being a Chinese restaurant they didn't seem to know how to do these!! Everything it seemed had to be chased..food, drinks, glasses and seemed to be too much trouble..even just thumped on the table as if we were just inconveniences. To be honest the food was overpriced and the bill nearly $200 for very average food..Would not recommend and will not return!! A complete...

My husband ordered our Chinese over the phone. When he went there to collect our Chinese they realised they had given our order to someone else.

We ordered $100 worth of food ,the guy who got our ordered,ordered one dish!!! My husband then asked for a refund as we would go else where. They refused a refund and wanted us to take the order that they got brought back from the wrong person,once the food had already left the store for over 10mins. My husband refused to take the order of food that had left the store with another person. We are in extreme times under extreme conditions and I believe anybody else would of done the same. I work local and we support local and to have such a disgraceful lack of customer service and duty of care for there customers is by far dissappointing. We will never support this business again. The Food 🥘 was super fantastic!! The Owner and Chef on the other hand not so cool unfortunately,, If your not a local they clearly don’t want your business also apparently it’s problem using your card ??? They prefer cash 💰 for some reason ,,But when using cash/card had a real real problem that $4 + $3.60 =$7.60 ??
