Thoroughly disappointing experience ended with the owner when we mentioned we had been waiting an extensive amount of time for the last order to come out to be met with âyeah well we got busy incase you canât seeâ. So let me paint the picture: order donuts next door and come over to order 4 kids sandwichâs and 3 sandwiches for adults. 20 minute wait between kids sandwiches and 2 out of 3 of our other sandwiches last sandwich arrived 10 minutes later, not only was it the wrong sandwich after being told it was the correct one. Then offered another 2 times different sandwiches once we had all our meals. Staff repeatedly seen going to the wrong tables, and handing out the wrong meals. When my husband asked where the 3rd sandwich was he was met with the extremely unprofessional answer as stated above. We arenât from the area in fact this was the second time we had come to try the donuts as they are delicious and felt this time we would love to try the cafe. Sadly now all that is left is a bad taste overall. For a space that prides itself in being Christian faith operated. Your approach to service lacks morale of both your faith and gives visitors a poor representation of your community. You had ample opportunities to rectify you had ample self choices to pursue with your responses and yet you dropped the ball, left, right and centre. Food itself overpriced, bland and cold. Toasted sandwichâs all un toasted on one side and cold. Service at counter flat, cold and unwelcoming. Money poorly spent on what was meant to be a nice morning out for our kids after...
Read moreBeen there many times. To start off the bench seating at the front window with seating underneath it? Not sure who's idea that was or who thinks it is pleasant sitting at a table beneath the widow while others look down at you while you talk and eat is definitely not a selling point of the cafe at all. Coffee is okay, not the beat not the worst and not very hot. Not the cleanest place in gympie, crumbs on the floor, I saw the same bits of what appeared to be cake on the floor of the cafe for over a week. The entrance is a trip hazard and a lawsuit waiting to happen. I saw two people within half an hour almost fall from the double edge entrance of the sliding door. The table we sat at was sticky and the chairs are old and outdated and not that comfortable. What I found disturbing was the fly's in the cake cabinet near the register. They really need a insect zapper to prevent fly's getting in their cabinet. The cakes etc are fairly run of the mill and like what you can get at any cafe. The doughnuts look too sweet but I'm sure they appeal to some. The staff are friendly and the fact they open on a Saturday is a good thing. With a few upgrades and a spring clean, it would be better. As for the front window seating, I'd recommend not having the footpath seating or not having the bar seating, that's my two...
Read moreCame for lunch with some friends and our children. The kidsâ sandwiches came out first, but the three adults were left waiting two of our sandwiches arrived after 20 minutes, and the third (a BLT with added chicken) took another 10 minutes after that.
Throughout our wait, the server repeatedly brought out incorrect sandwiches to different tables and had to take them back into the kitchen. Eventually, one of us went up to the counter to ask about the missing sandwich, explaining that we had been waiting a long time and everyone else had already finished eating. The owner finally went into the kitchen, brought out a sandwich, and said, âHere mate, if you couldnât see, weâre very busy.â
What we received was a cold toastie not even the correct order. It was some kind of chicken sandwich with grapes on it. The actual BLT with chicken didnât arrive until 5 minutes later.
Needless to say, I wonât be returning. Completely...
