I thought I'd try this new venue in Lidcombe, situated on the site of the former JJ Coffee House. The fit-out of the interior looks new and fresh, featuring wood panelling. It's clean and tidy as well. I was greeted almost as soon as I entered the shop, the friendly staff member took my order of a small flat-white coffee, and a hamburger. I was told that the burger was served with a choice of a side, chips or salad. I opted for chips, my preferred burger pairing. I took a seat and waited, soon a bottle of chilled tap water and a glass were placed on my table. Very refreshing on a hot day. The coffee arrived next, it was very well made, very drinkable, smooth texture, not too bitter. Finally, the main event, the burger and chips. The chips were ideal, hot, a thin and crispy outer shell, and a fluffy interior. The portion size was an ideal addition to the burger, IMO. Speaking of the burger, it was of a generous size, featuring a fresh bun, crisp leafy greens, juicy tomato slices, just enough sauce to lift the flavour without overwhelming it, and a flavourful, well cooked meat pattie. All in all, a very well made and delicious hamburger. I had a very enjoyable dining experience, there was absolutely nothing to fault with the customer service or the quality of the food. Having tried their hamburger, I'm keen to give some of their other menu items a go. Recommended.

Had to give the new Hideout a bit of a “try out”. It was ran by the one bloke on a sunny Sunday morn - this one-man army managed to get all customer orders whipped out in good time. Loads of options to select from. Ordered an avo smash and an egg & avo wrap with chips, plus three coffees because we’re greedy buggers. Toby’s Estate coffee roasters were served here, with an eye for detail (we watched him make the coffees). Both meals were cooked to perfection, despite some picky alterations from yours truly. Well-priced considering we’re in Sydney Struggletown these days. A winner of a cafe all-round. Will have to pay them another visit when next in the area. Recommended.

We went to check out the new cafe that was previously JJs for 40 years. The new decor was nice. They serve the standard brunch menu items with additional nepalese items which we will defo be back to try. Had a lovely experience here for brekky this morning, nice space, staff were good, food was great, pricing was standard! We had the signature smashed avo, brekky burger and a kids pancakes and all were great. Some minor things that I'd like to note were probably have some music as it was super quiet and if the maple syrup for the pancakes was served on the side that would be good. Otherwise, no qualms, loved it! Glad there's something new and different on Lidcombe!

The reviews that are here as 5 stars surely can't be genuine. I don't usually leave reviews, but this might be the worst place i have ever been to, especially service wise. Upon entering, and it's obvious the place had been open for a while, most of the lights were off. I asked, why is the place so dim? The staff member/waitress said we turned the lights off. I asked her to turn the lights on and still only half were turned on. Who wants to eat in a dimly lit place for breakfast?!! Food was below average, i can make better in my own kitchen. I asked about something on the menu as i was far from satisfied, the staff member said she wasn't sure and seemed like she went to ask, and then didn't even return to answer my question. So i asked about something super basic-toast!!! How many slices in a serve? Again, she didn't know and went to get someone. When the guy arrived, first he said it was one piece, then two pieces. I asked if they had Nutella, he said no. I was beyond done at this point. The only good thing was the fresh orange juice. When i got up to pay the bill, what do i see on the counter towards the back wall. Nutella!!! Absolutely unbelievable. A ridiculous experience. I wouldn't go back to this place if it was...

Do not recommend coming to this joint. I came in with a group of 8 at around 11am (place was empty). I was one of the last to order, and firstly it took over an hour before we even saw our first dish, secondly my dish was one of the first to be brought out. So what happened to the orders that was ordered before me? They obviously don't have their time management down packed.

I ordered the veggie burger. AND THE PATTY WAS SO SMALL, IT WAS LIKE HALF THE SIZE OF THE BUN. I was eating the bun for at least 5 bites before I got to the patty. Not enough salad, not enough sauce, not enough of anything. But bun.

My family ordered 4 big breakfasts, but there was no consistency. They couldn't even serve the same 4 dishes at the same time. Eggs were made incorrectly. Halloumi cheese was off. Avocado was basically half brown. Spinach and mushroom were too salty. The scramble eggs had no taste.

Honestly did not appreciate that they didn't even apologies and the inconvenience that they...
