Not good coffee or service, but if you have to stop here – I’d suggest takeaway only! If you sit down for a coffee, they will make and serve all the takeaway orders that walk in after you! Prepare to wait! My experience: The barista was friendly enough on arrival. There was only 1 other patron in the place when we walked in. We were asked to take a seat and they would come over to take our order (this took a while – the barista had to prompt the other lady to take our order; she was sitting down at that time). Drinks/coffee ordered and at the time, the other patron had also ordered 2 coffees… they got theirs just as another person walked in. I’m guessing a local / regular (which is great for a business). That patron got their takeaway coffee, food and chat – we still had no drinks. Another takeaway walks in before that one left / was still chatting – they also got their coffee before us. Finally 1 drink (not our coffee) arrived and was nearly finished before I walked up to ask if our coffees were still coming (maybe they forgot – I was giving the benefit of the doubt). I was abruptly told “YES She’s making them”. I thought about cancelling the coffees, but this place had reasonable reviews so I thought I’d have the ‘full experience’ so I can evaluate for myself. The coffee was NOT worth the LONG wait – I didn’t finish it. So unfortunate, the town seemed lovely – I didn’t try coffee anywhere else, but I can suggest visiting the bakery instead – I noticed they serve coffee and definitely much nicer...

Date/time of visit: 19 March 2024 @ 1:45pm Return visit. Still excellent. This time had a delicious, full of flavour red Thai chicken curry and elderly relative had delicious savoury scones with jam and cream. Full review below is still relevant - still great quality.

The staff were excellent. It was a very busy day in Richmond with many tourists and lunchtime saw many people wanting somewhere to eat. The staff at Ashmore were wonderful, patient and doing their best to ve accommodating. Venue had wonderful atmosphere and was bathed in autumn afternoon sun. Food was delucious. The parents were very happy with their fish and chios. The only complaint being the serving size was too big for them and they felt obliged to eat everything (tue two "younger" ones helped them out). The chicken and chorizo risotto was excellent with each element working well with other elements in the dish. And the scones with jam and cream was eaten with enjoyment. Two of us had eaten here before (many years ago) and the cafe has maintained its...

Dining Experience @ Ashmore On Bridge Street. . Known for being a popular breakfast and lunch spot, Ashmore On Bridge Street is a stalwart dining destination of the local Richmond community. . The Scones With Mulberry Jam & Clotted Cream (AUD $15.50) were pretty good. The scones are firm outside crumbly inside, with bready sweet flavour. Paired with the creamy clotted cream with milky sweet flavour, and the thick mulberry jam with fruity earthy sweet flavour, this was so comforting. . Love the Pancakes With Bacon & Maple, Clotted Cream & Ice Cream (AUD $21). This was a rather unique way to eat pancakes, seldom have a pairing of clotted cream and ice cream at the same time! The notes of sweet, savoury, and salty, layer together really well. . We split the Eggs Benedict With Pulled Pork (AUD $27.50). The base toast was rather tall, but held up the ingredients well. Visually, really luscious to the eyes. Tasty too, with good...

This place is 100% a hidden gem! From the first step in, the aromatic coffee smell really caught me; food is fresh and well delivered! We particularly like the salmon - we thought it was smoked salmon but turned out it was pan fried (to perfection!). I also love the range of food available, I wish I stayed in Richmond instead so I get to try out more things on the menu! Saw some other people ordered cakes and they look absolutely beautiful!
