Let me just start. The menu and atmosphere really steals the show here.
Back in the 90s I spent an odd 8 years living in the east coast of the USA and the burger joints there had an atmosphere that could not be replicated.
I have been happily been proven wrong this afternoon as I made my first trip to Corner Boys in Hobart, Tasmania.
A great causal dining area that had multiple tvs that played the most recent NBA, Warm up games for the MLB and even a rerun of the 2016 Super Bowl. If sports is not your style, they even had 3 arcade cabinets of Street fighter, Pac man and space invaders.
All the food looked and tasted good, my mate got their signature corner burger with a generous amount of fries. I got the Aussie Joe (their take on a sloppy) which didn’t taste exactly like one from the states but had a bit more care put in it.
Lastly, I was surprised by their drink selection. Some old favorites were their such as Arizona Tea, Variety of USA exclusive Dr Pepper but I just had to have the Mug Root Beer .
Corner Boys will definitely see...

In this era of $25 mains being the norm, I’ve found the pricing to be a breath of fresh air. The reason I rated the atmosphere so low is because the seating is outdoors and extremely uncomfortable plastic seating. But the food makes it worth the hassle in my opinion. I love how almost everything can be made vegetarian with the mock meat options. I am not a falafel fan, so it’s perfect that they have the seitan chicken. I’ve also ordered on Uber eats and found the food to be just as good. The only problem is that the business doesn’t accept Uber eats notes. For instance, I wanted the Mac and cheese without bacon. But there is no way to remove the bacon, so I have to call the restaurant and ask them to change the order. Also on uber eats the sauce options were unavailable, which was disappointing. I would definitely eat here and order again though. It’s amazing being able to spend $50 and feed the whole family with...
Read moreReally disappointing, I got the brisket roll with potato skins, xo greens and mac and cheese, and the greens were the only good part. The roll was smaller than I expected and like 60% fat, I had whole bites full of nothing but pure fat, it was gross. The potato skins were ok but there weren't actually that many, they were just on top of a big potato hash that had basically no flavour, like I swear it wasn't even salted. The mac and cheese had a solid brick of cheese on top and largely flavourless sludge underneath. The greens were pretty good thanks to the sauce, but overall I feel like I...
