Claiming to be the only Canadian restaurant in Australia is a bold claim when it's bearly Canadian food that's being served. Yes you have a Poutine but putting maple flavours in a dish doesn't make it Canadian.

We had the perogies to start and I'm not sure the chef has ever seen what a perogie is. Bearly any filling, bacon over cooked, the dough undercooked on one side and only 2 for $18 is mind boggling.

The mains were nothing to write home about either. Risotto had olive oil just splashed on top for some reason making the whole dish super oily and the rice was under cooked. The "french onions" with the steak tasted like it had apple puree in it it was so sweet. Steak was cooked well though and the salsa verde was nice.

They have this share thing going on as well which is kinda weird as you would expect a $30 risotto to share would be at least a main size of a bit larger but when it came out and was the about a cup and half of risotto it's confusing what they are trying to do. Steak was probably about 200g of rump as a share for $30 so the concept is definitely off. The servers did clarify that the meals aren't mains and are ment for 2 to share but why does that make them smaller dishes?

If your looking at the pics of the food/menu on google be warned that they are all of the menu that stops at 3. They have a different menu for dinner which is another thing that doesn't make sense to me. You change from a place that has some actual dishes with a Canadian feel and just stop at 3? Why not take this all the way through?

Overall not interested is going back and might need to rethink the...

Booked online for Mother's Day brunch for 9am. Apparently there is a message when you book online saying that you're booking an hour sitting - didn't see that, but ok, that's fine. Arrived at 8:57 but were told we were early and could we please wait outside (note that it's freezing this morning and we had 2 small children with us). We weren't allowed to wait inside as there were other bookings coming in. We were seated at 9:10 once the family at the table before us had hurriedly finished up and the table had been cleared. Drinks orders taken straight away, great! Coffees came at 9:30 which is when the server came to take our order. So ordinarily this would have left 30 minutes for us to order, the food to be cooked (keeping in mind the restaurant was booked out) and for us to eat (with 2 small children), however we were advised we could stay until 10:15 as we had "lucked out" and the next booking wasn't until then. Sorry, but anyone with young children knows that's not enough time to eat a meal! And certainly not enough time to have a nice Mother's Day brunch! We didn't want to stay all day or anything, but the greed of wanting to get more bookings through the door stopped multiple families from being able to enjoy their morning. We drank our reasonably nice coffees and left so that the table would be free in time for the next booking. Really disappointing as the food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing and we were really looking forward to trying it. Will be...

Terrible Service !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That Ruins the Whole Experience

We had high hopes for this café, but unfortunately the service was absolutely disappointing and left a bad taste, no matter how good the food was.

We waited nearly an hour just to get a table — which we patiently accepted. But once seated, the service didn’t improve. When we tried to place our order, I politely raised my hand to get the attention of a waitress who was busy clearing dishes nearby. Usually, in any decent café, you’d expect a quick “I’ll be right with you” or at least some acknowledgment. She didn’t even glance over.

Thinking she hadn’t seen me, I simply kept my hand raised, without saying a word. But when she finally walked over, she didn’t greet us or ask for our order — instead, she snapped, saying: “You don’t need to be rude holding your hand up all the time.”

I was shocked. I hadn’t said a single word, just waited quietly. Her tone was unnecessarily harsh and incredibly unprofessional. There was absolutely no reason to speak to a customer like that. It was a moment that genuinely made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome — it completely ruined the experience.

Yes, the food was decent. But hospitality is about more than just what’s on the plate — and this kind of attitude makes it very hard to enjoy anything. We won’t be...

We had the Montreal beef sandwich, which had plenty of juicy beef, and the Poutine with maple bacon, which came in large portions. For drinks, the maple cinnamon latte with maple whiskey was incredible, the whiskey’s aroma paired perfectly with the coffee. We also tried the London Fog, which was a bit too sweet for me, but it had an amazing aroma and a unique flavor that I haven’t encountered anywhere else. The staff was friendly and energetic, which made for a wonderful start to the day. btw, we sat on the balcony, where there were heaters under the tables to keep you warm. It was sufficient for us during our visit, but it might still be cold if it’s windy.

Had one of our best meals in Hobart here and was pleasantly surprised that with 2 service staff and 1 chef running the kitchen, the whole process from sitting to ordering and food being served was very prompt and executed flawlessly. The star dish for me was the spiced cauliflower salad and the pork belly but the other dishes we tried were good too. Very well appointed decor and full height windows overlooking the harbour added to the lovely ambience. Plenty of streetside parking available near the restaurant which is handy.
