We dined at this great little restaurant with friends having previously been impressed by their breakfast and lunch offerings. They bake their own bread and itâs well worth the trip to Bellerive to purchase your quotidian loaf. The small menu, which changes constantly, is designed for sharing - with selections of small, medium and larger dishes and includes vegetarian options. The food is sourced locally and is handled inventively. Everything we ordered was a feast to the eye and to our palates. Standouts included the tomato custard eclair, the potato cake with beef tartare, the carrots with Comte and Avruga, the tortellini, the loin of lamb and the hanger steak. The staff are very friendly and well informed about the composition of each dish. We could not fault the food or service. Our only slight problem was noise but the staff were happy to reseat us to a quieter position. We plan to return regularly and would recommend it highly. Sadly, the food was so appetising we ate it all before we thought of capturing our...
Read moreWe were fortunate to discover this hidden gem on our first night in Hobart, and it exceeded all expectations.
The culinary experience was truly exceptional, showcasing the finest local produce with a perfect harmony of flavors. Standout dishes included the zucchini, squash, and herbsâan elegant display of balance and freshness. The dessert was a masterpiece: a berry tart paired with sesame ice cream, offering an exquisite interplay of textures and flavors, beautifully complemented by the crunch of nuts.
The wine selection was equally impressive, featuring an array of thoughtfully curated options. The staffâs knowledge of the wines was outstanding, and the ability to purchase bottles to take home was a delightful bonus.
From the impeccable service to the superb food and inviting atmosphere, every detail was flawless. This establishment offers a truly unforgettable dining experience. A must-visit for anyone in Hobartâhighly...
Read moreThought we'd try this newly-opened restaurant for coffee and cake a few days ago. When we arrived it was reasonably quiet, with only about 1/2 the seating occupied. Nevertheless, the amount of glass and hard furnishings seem to reflect noise, and a few loud conversations really were intrusive. We could imagine that with a crowd it would be very noisy. The cakes we had were excellent and promptly served. Praise to the serving staff for not doing the dishonest practice of serving coffee far ahead of the food in the hope you'll be ready for "seconds" once your food is served. Our cake was served and our coffee turned up in a timely manner as we were enjoying our cake. I had a custard tart, my wife an apricot cake. We both enjoyed these nice creations! The coffee was very tasty. Mention must be made of the very nice staff. Another nice restaurant...
