Loan's Chinese and Vietnamese Restaurant — Restaurant in Ipswich City

Firstly, staff didn’t ask if we wanted dine in or takeaway. We wanted to dine in so sat at a corner table after ordering. Halfway through we thought hmm maybe they don’t know we want to dine in let’s ask them. The girl serving said no we couldn’t but if we maybe paid an extra $2 each we could. We would happily pay that. She asked the kitchen crew and obviously in their language it was a no. Apparently the layering of the food was too difficult to plate. We said okay no worries we can eat the takeaway container food in the restaurant. Food came out in a takeaway container which we asked could we just eat dine in anyway. Said this time we could although was obviously disturbed we had even asked her, but next time we could not. I replied with well we won’t be coming back here again anyway and left. Table cutlery was right there, we would have happily paid $2 to eat in our plastic containers but apparently that was much too big of a request. I’m sure that would never happen in Vietnam. The food is DELICIOUS! Great prices and next level service. Our food came out surprisingly quick for how busy they were. The battered prawns are the best I've had, and the spring rolls are really good as well. Mongolian beef is to die for. Their honey chicken left a little to be desired but was still good. The sweet and sour pork is really good as well. Serving sizes could be a little bigger, but the flavours are on point. I phoned ahead for an order of their satay beef extra extra spicy - they misunderstood my order and when I asked why they were charging me $34 for 1 dish they explained they were making 2 dishes. I didn’t get what I asked for. I did get the satay beef I wanted… but I also had to pay for a dish I didn’t order with ingredients I can’t eat or want and they didn’t make my dish spicy at all.
