OEC Sushi — Restaurant in Joondalup

⁣𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝟏𝟕 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 𝟏𝟏.𝟓𝟕𝐩𝐦 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 ⁣ ⁣ My partner introduced this place because this is one of his favourite korean cafe. ⁣ It's a cute korean place. You might have a problem finding a seat during peak hours as seat are limited. I'd prefer to seat outdoor as I feel that it's a little bit stuffy indoor.⁣ ⁣ We ordered 2 bowls to share. Presentable on point, very well assemble. Rice portion is just nice for me, it's about 1 fist size of mine. Portion quite small compared to the others. Something to nitpicked is that the bulogoi beef is slighty overcooked and dry. I don’t usually hang out in Joondalup, but I had to pick something up for work and was starving for lunch. Stumbled upon this hidden gem in Regents Park, and I’m so glad I did! It’s located on the corner of the road in a quiet but lovely area with a few shops nearby.

I arrived just before the lunch rush and was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, which made the experience even better. I quickly secured a table and decided to try their signature Tokyo Plate. It included 6 pieces of different sushi—tuna, salmon, tempura, crab stick, onsen egg, and sashimi. The sushi was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully prepared, with thoughtful details in both presentation and flavor. As a fan of Japanese food, I was thoroughly impressed.

To start, I had a warm miso soup, perfect for the chilly weather, and paired it with a matcha latte. The matcha latte came in a surprisingly large cup—almost the size of the miso soup bowl lol. It was delicious, with lovely latte art topped with a hint of chocolate flakes.

Before leaving, I couldn’t resist picking up dessert to enjoy at home. I chose the strawberry short swiss roll cake, which was light, fluffy, and perfectly balanced—not overly sweet. It was the ideal way to round off a satisfying meal without feeling heavy.

Fusion type Japanese restaurant in a quiet neighbourhood strip of shops. Very small, seating 24 with only 4 tables of 2 inside and the rest outside on the footpath. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, they moved their table set up inside for our party without any fuss. The menu is pretty small, but the dishes we tried were delicious. Instagrammable looking and tasty. We had the tofu and vegetable tempura Udon. The tofu was battered and fried and the tempura was like shredded onion and vegetable fritters. There was also broccoli, mushroom and seaweed in the soup. The chirashi poke bowl was rice with assorted finely chopped seafood, tobiko, edamame, and sweet egg on the top, it comes with a spicy dressing. Salmon sushi burger is raw salmon slices on cabbage slaw inside a crispy rice "bun" wrapped in Nori. Order and pay at the counter.
