All I can say is that with the new owners, my partner and I are overwhelmingly disappointed. This is no longer the same cafe it used to be using wonderful beans and serving excellent cafe food. Instead, sourdough is white bread, eggs are cooked with no colour and coffee is flavourless. Those who had dined in the past will know what the smashed avocado staple used to look like and has been replaced with the image attached to the review. The worst offender was the excessive amount of dried parsley flakes that give the underwhelming reimagination of Avo-licious the most delightful chewy texture (sarcasm). I almost feel like carrying the previous owners name of Little Jaspi's and not changing the menu is deceptive and misleading. We will not be back.

Me and friend went for a brunch date. I ordered a tropical juice which was pretty good, not too sweet not too sour. She ordered an iced chai, which was a bit watery and very mild chai. I got the diablo omelette which was nice it had a lot of chilli which was good, I think if it had a zesty sauce or some lemon it would balance the flavours and chilli a bit better. There should have been some more tomato’s too! The eggs Benedict was good except for some of the other topping which wasn’t my friend favourite (asparagus and a sweet chilli crisp jam)

First time visitor & we weren't disappointed. I had the avo-licious and it was avo-Delicious! The atmosphere was friendly & nicely informal with kids playing & the gardens outside filled with tomato & broad beans. It felt like the sort of place where they say hi & remember your 'usual'. The staff were all friendly & attentive, the coffee bloody good & the salads etc in the display cabinet looked great too. Can't wait to return & try some of the freshly shucked oysters too šŸ‘Œ

By far the worst coffee. Not sure about the food though. Do yourself a favour and don’t get the coffee. I took 2 sips and it was bloody awful. I can guarantee the dude who brewed it is not barista trained. Not trying to discriminate but if the barista is an Indian/brown person, don’t get the coffee. PS: I’m an Asian myself.

If you’re the owner then it’s doomed to fail in the long run unless you get a formal training in coffee making. If someone is an owner, better get a qualified barista. I’ve to edit here since I can’t respond to your post. First of all, the coffee you served me was as hot as the boiling water, so how was I supposed to taste right away and then give you a feedback. Customers order takeaway for a reason. Second, being an Indian or for that matter from any Asian country does matter as we don’t have the culture of coffee unlike the west. That’s why formal training is necessary to understand the basics. I’m not being a keyboard warrior. I shared what I experienced. If you are too soft to handle criticisms, then get trained first and then serve good coffee for it’s a coffee place. You might be serving hundreds of coffees but let me tel you. Your food might be good but coffee for now it’s just awful. So instead of dwelling on criticisms, polish your skills Mr....

My partner and I come to Little Jaspi about 2/3 times a year and have really enjoyed the quality of coffee and food. We recommend it to friends/family in the area.

On our recent visit, we had no idea it had changed owners. This was our first concern.

The coffee quality has gone incredibly down. Bitter beans! I ordered a mocha which I guess has become a flat white with chocolate powder on top.

The food that followed was pretty horrific. Wet, sloppy scrambled eggs, thin, white bread masking as the menu’s offering of ā€œsourdoughā€ and chewy pieces of dried inedible parsley to finish. Not quite sure why my scrambled eggs had a dollop of mango chutney on top. I was equally confused on why my bacon I added extra had been hidden underneath, other than to prevent the bread from soggying (spoiler alert; didn’t work!).

My partners avo-licious smashed avocado was neither smashed nor licious, with the same sprinkling of cremated parsley pieces.

Comparing what we had previously to now (if you’re playing along at home, you can do the same by looking through the review pictures from 6 months and older) is a crime and highly deceptive. For the punishment I will be putting Little Jaspi in my cafe prison; i.e I...

Cute little Cafe tucked away in a local business/residential hub. Admittedly it was initially hard to spot, as they have a very subtle B&W sign logo and I don't think they had much free-standing street signage advertising the cafe. Cabinet was well stocked and the menu was impressive. Food is ordered at the counter not table service. The tables inside are on the small side and quite close together inside, but comfortable otherwise and a nice vibe. I came in on Boxing Day, I had the crab omelette and iced latte. It was filling and quite salty and rich but very flavoursome and nicely presented. The public holiday surcharge added to the cost, but I suppose it is to be expected. I just appreciated that they were open to be honest. Overall friendly service, very efficient and welcoming staff. I definitely would...
