By far the worst coffee. Not sure about the food though. Do yourself a favour and donāt get the coffee. I took 2 sips and it was bloody awful. I can guarantee the dude who brewed it is not barista trained. Not trying to discriminate but if the barista is an Indian/brown person, donāt get the coffee. PS: Iām an Asian myself.
If youāre the owner then itās doomed to fail in the long run unless you get a formal training in coffee making. If someone is an owner, better get a qualified barista. Iāve to edit here since I canāt respond to your post. First of all, the coffee you served me was as hot as the boiling water, so how was I supposed to taste right away and then give you a feedback. Customers order takeaway for a reason. Second, being an Indian or for that matter from any Asian country does matter as we donāt have the culture of coffee unlike the west. Thatās why formal training is necessary to understand the basics. Iām not being a keyboard warrior. I shared what I experienced. If you are too soft to handle criticisms, then get trained first and then serve good coffee for itās a coffee place. You might be serving hundreds of coffees but let me tel you. Your food might be good but coffee for now itās just awful. So instead of dwelling on criticisms, polish your skills Mr....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy partner and I come to Little Jaspi about 2/3 times a year and have really enjoyed the quality of coffee and food. We recommend it to friends/family in the area.
On our recent visit, we had no idea it had changed owners. This was our first concern.
The coffee quality has gone incredibly down. Bitter beans! I ordered a mocha which I guess has become a flat white with chocolate powder on top.
The food that followed was pretty horrific. Wet, sloppy scrambled eggs, thin, white bread masking as the menuās offering of āsourdoughā and chewy pieces of dried inedible parsley to finish. Not quite sure why my scrambled eggs had a dollop of mango chutney on top. I was equally confused on why my bacon I added extra had been hidden underneath, other than to prevent the bread from soggying (spoiler alert; didnāt work!).
My partners avo-licious smashed avocado was neither smashed nor licious, with the same sprinkling of cremated parsley pieces.
Comparing what we had previously to now (if youāre playing along at home, you can do the same by looking through the review pictures from 6 months and older) is a crime and highly deceptive. For the punishment I will be putting Little Jaspi in my cafe prison; i.e I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCute little Cafe tucked away in a local business/residential hub. Admittedly it was initially hard to spot, as they have a very subtle B&W sign logo and I don't think they had much free-standing street signage advertising the cafe. Cabinet was well stocked and the menu was impressive. Food is ordered at the counter not table service. The tables inside are on the small side and quite close together inside, but comfortable otherwise and a nice vibe. I came in on Boxing Day, I had the crab omelette and iced latte. It was filling and quite salty and rich but very flavoursome and nicely presented. The public holiday surcharge added to the cost, but I suppose it is to be expected. I just appreciated that they were open to be honest. Overall friendly service, very efficient and welcoming staff. I definitely would...
