This review does not reflect the door or bar staff at the club. They were very friendly and accommodating.
This review is regarding the new Harvesters bistro. Myself and my partner visited for lunch today. We both ordered a steak sandwich and chips. The steak in both was chewy, dry and fatty. My partner ate half of his because he was hungry. I attempted to eat mine but just couldn't so I returned mine to the kitchen and was supplied with another. Same again, I couldn't chew it and so did not eat it. At no time did anyone come and check if it was okay. I returned the plate to the kitchen and advised my situation to the waitress. I suggested I should be refunded. She returned with 2 kitchen staff, 1 male and 1 female. The female staff member stated "well you won't be getting a refund, you've already eaten half of it". I also stated that a steak sandwich should not be marinated meat and was told "that's how we do them and everyone loves them". I guess that's why there was only two other couples in the bistro. I don't believe they will be in business for long.
We thought we would try the new bistro instead of going to the Commercial Hotel as we usually do.
It's the Commercial pub for us. Great meal, great service, great price.
Not a good look for the services club. They will...
Read moreWent out for lunch at the new Club Bistro yesterday. Our group ordered 5 meals. 2 of them were ready after 20 minutes. After another 10 minutes of waiting we were informed that the ordered pork ribs were actually not available, so a steak sandwich was ordered instead. We waited another 10 minutes for two more meals to be ready, just to find out that one meal described in the menu had nothing in common with the food that was delivered: The menu said "Prawn and Ginger Dumplings, Coriander, Vermicelli noodles, Coconut Asian broth, chilli & pineapple". Served were 6 dry dumplings placed on a plate with a bowl of dipping sauce. The last of the ordered meals finally came out after 50 minutes waiting time. All meals were below average (for example: tough and fatty steaks on sandwiches and in salads) and over half an hour waiting time between 5 different meals left us very disappointed. There were only 2 other tables occupied and the Club looked very much over staffed at the time of our attendance (several staff members eating their own lunches behind and nearby the bar) There was no explanation for the long waiting time nor an apology for the food. We definitely will not be back any time soon and are not going to recommend the food...
Read moreWe went here based on reviews. Well, it was a disappointment. My husband had the chicken schnitzel and honestly? He would've been better off cutting it with an angle grinder. It was severely overcooked. It was dry and had no flavour. I had the chicken supreme, with prosciutto (well, that's what the menu said). Another overcooked piece of chicken thigh. They even dished up a chicken wing which was so dry even my dog wouldn't have eaten it. Steamed veggies? Try McCains frozen veg boiled in water. No taste at all. It was dripping in water on the plate too. The mashed potato looked as if it had been reheated, again and again. And thr hollandaise sauce? It was disgusting. Not home made at all
It was one of the most tasteless, overcooked and bland meals we'd ever had.
Although I shouldn't have been surprised, now that I've had time to think. The meals were brought out within 10 minutes of ordering. That to me is indicative of it being reheated. I gave 2 stars...my husbands chips were good (I guess they were the only fresh food that wasn't pre-prepared and reheated) and the other star for the service
Needless to say, when we travel through Junee again, we won't be...
