Just For You the Bread House — Restaurant in Karrinyup

Every time I go to Karrinyup, the first place I think about eating at is Just for You. Is the atmosphere great? No. Is the customer service perfect l? No. But the reason you come here is the food, which is heavenly. The first thing I tried on my latest trip was a must-have: the pork floss bun with spring onions. It was soft and fluffy. I don’t know how it managers to be savoury and sweet at the same time, but it works. Next up was the mini hot dog bun. First, it’s a frankfurt, not a real hotdog, but that’s just nitpicking - that distinction doesn’t matter too much compared to how it tastes. Again, it was fluffy and moist. I also tried the big hot dog bun, which throws in cheese and tomato sauce. I was slightly disappointed by the sauce being from a bottle and a little too sweet, but it was still a good snack. The bread was just as good. For my last piece, I chowed down on a piece of garlic bread. The taste of the garlic was very subtle, but that was just how it should be. The store isn’t very big and would be hard for someone in a wheelchair to navigate. The customer service could also be better, but I’ve had worse. I’ve always loved this place, the cakes, the buns, and the warm service have always been my favourite. But today really broke my heart. It was the first time I was served by this particular staff member, and instead of the usual friendly atmosphere, we were scolded just because we asked what the cake filling was. There was no label or sign, and we honestly just wanted to know before buying. It wasn’t even busy no one else was in the shop or waiting in line. What made it worse was being reminded “in Australia” just because we are Asian and politely asked for a plastic knife. That comment felt so unnecessary and honestly quite hurtful. We weren’t rude at all, but the way we were treated left us shocked and uncomfortable. It’s sad because we still bought the cake,that’s how much we’ve always supported this place but after today, I don’t think I could ever come back with the same excitement. Bought some cakes this arvo, 4 pm. The person serving us, was extremely offensive , arrogant and to a point rude! The staff (short hair and very slim) member tended to ignore us, only because I asked if there was a special sale happening!! The rude response was” we don’t have special offers in this shop”! This was at just gone past 4 pm they shut 5 pm. The today’s freshly baked stuff was being shoved to the front glass boxes for tomorrow morning??? Your guess is good as mine!

I agree with a lady who earlier reviewed her child dropping an $3.50 cake etc. Perth locals need to know about the staff attitude and freshness of bread sticks etc. when purchasing next morning!!
