My recent experience at the Rainforest View Cafe in Kuranda was nothing short of disappointing and disheartening. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that the staff were disinterested and apathetic. It seemed as though the entire establishment operated under the motto of "minimal effort, maximum profit."
Let's start with the service, or lack thereof. It was appalling. It took an eternity to even get noticed, and when I finally did, the service was rushed and indifferent. It's clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority here.
Now, onto the prices. Everything was outrageously overpriced. A simple soft drink, which elsewhere would be served with care and perhaps even a smile, was nothing more than a can plunked down on the table with a straw sticking out of it â for the exorbitant price of $6.50! This blatant price gouging reflects a complete disregard for fair pricing and customer value.
As for the food, it was uninspired at every level. The menu offered a selection of dishes that seemed more like afterthoughts than carefully crafted meals. Tasteless and unremarkable, each dish lacked any semblance of creativity or passion. It was as if the chefs had given up long ago and were simply going through the motions.
The saddest part of all is the apparent lack of pride from the owners, managers, and staff. From top to bottom, there was a palpable sense of indifference. It's clear they could care less about the quality of their service or the satisfaction of their patrons.
Overall, the Rainforest View Cafe is a disgrace and an embarrassment to Kuranda. It tarnishes the reputation of this beautiful place with its lack of hospitality, overpriced mediocrity, and complete disregard for customer experience. Save your time and money; there are far better dining options in Kuranda that actually deserve...
   Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE!!!!
I am writing this on behalf of my 78 year old Mum, who ate here on the 19th of October.
She got the fish and chips that were on special at lunch time. When I picked up my Mum from work the next day, she was in a terrible way. She had not eaten since this meal and spent all of Friday throwing up over 6 times, with acute food poisoning.
She was on holiday and this weekend was the only time that we would get to spend together and she hasn't been to visit since before Covid.
I put her to bed on Friday afternoon and she could not get out of bed until Sunday. She was so ill, I thought that on Sunday I would be taking her to hospital and put on a drip. She is so old I didn't think she was going to pull through.
For 3 days of her 7 day trip, she was bed bound, with fever and delirious and had to cancel everything we were going to do. She has been unable to do anything since she has recovered, she is physically exhausted after the ordeal she went through, from eating your food.
Thanks to the lack of understanding of health standards, you have completely ruined my Mum's holiday with your food that is clearly not fit for human consumption, so you can save just a few dollars for yourself. I strongly recommend you rethink cutting corners and selling food that is out of date and then rethink your whole business and how it is going to survive.
I am not one to normally write negative feedback, but you need to know what my poor Mum has been through since she ate your food. If you continue to cut corners in food hygiene, someone will sue you eventually.
What you have done is so...
Read moreNot many options around on a day tour so despite the poor reviews, I gave this place a shot.
Front of house staff, although friendly, need some training. Priorities all wrong - many people sitting waiting to order (itâs table service) or receive their orders, but the staff are clearing tables (there was plenty of free tables - not like people were lining up waiting for a clean table to be seated at). Drinks were all lined up on the bar waiting to go out to tables for a good 25 mins. My bottled beer sat (open with lime in it) on the bar for the 25 minutes until I flagged a waitress. Lovely apology, but then received a warm beer that I still paid full price for.
Food was decent enough (seafood basket) and that was thankfully hot. Table next to me had a pizza that looked like one of those doughy cardboard frozen McCain Pizzas. Ambience nice. Good concept place, just not well executed. Seemed to be no structure to who was responsible for what, which meant staff were all aimlessly running around (with customer service being a lower priority). Perhaps try staff being responsible for one task at a time per shift (running drinks, or food, or clearing tables, or seating people and finalising payments⌠or try staff being responsible for one âsectionâ of tables at a time⌠rather than everyone trying to do everything (and it clearly...
