𝑱𝒐𝒐𝒆𝒚’𝒔 𝑩𝒖𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝑩𝒂𝒓: This was no ordinary burger🍔 The double patties were perfectly crisp on the edges while still remaining juicy! A proper brunch 🍔 explosion, each bite 👄 struck a balance between the earthiness of the truffled mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 & the decedent & umami-laden truffle delight😘

𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊 𝑪𝒓𝒂𝒃 𝑺𝒄𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒍𝒆: Imagine silky soft scrambled eggs 🥚 with a subtle yet retaining that kick 🦵🏻 from Laika Coffee house-made sambal, layered with bits of crab meat 🦀

𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒕 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒚: A twist on the classic egg benedict. The chipotle in the hollandaise helps cut through its richness, paired together with the creamy gooey egg yolk 🥚, flavourful yet tender slow-cooked brisket, perfectly golden & crispy potato rosti, 🤪🤪🤪

𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒌 𝑺𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂:
Sturdy, flavourful, & uncomplicated in a good way. Generous portions of seared steak 🥩 are sandwiched between crusty bread 🥪 I did wish the steak was more tender, it was a little too tough for my liking😅

𝑩𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒕 𝑮𝒏𝒐𝒄𝒄𝒉𝒊:
This dish is colourfullll! The beets gave depth & sweetness & the gnocchi had a nice soft chewy texture. A dish for those who want something healthy but fun & interesting 💛🩷💚❤️

𝑩𝒂𝒃𝒂 𝑮𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒉 𝑯𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒔:
A smokey, creamy combination!!😝 Served with fresh herbs, juicy grilled mushrooms & tomatoes, & basil pesto sauce for a moreish taste 👅

𝐂𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝑪𝒐𝒅𝒆 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑪𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔:
Bright, clean, & layered with both citrus acidity & floral top notes 💐 This long black was well-extracted, showcasing the terroir-driven complexity of the Colombian beans.

𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂 𝑹𝒂𝒚 𝑪𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔: Inspired by the popular Chinese candy, this latte is creamy, nostalgic, & playful all at the same time😁 The creamy sweetness was complemented by an earthy depth from the Yunnan beans.

𝑶 𝑵 𝑨 𝑪𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓: With its light body, juicy acidity, & powerful notes of stone fruit and jasmine, this cup was a good pour😋

First of all, you know what you get when you walk in the door.

You get a blast of sensory information from the roasting coffee beans. You see a hive of activity yet somehow it doesn't feel crowded. Perhaps it's the mirrors in the back room that appear to double as a ballet studio.

We were seated rapidly and served menus soon after.

A few minutes to look over the menus and we knew our orders for drinks at least. The coffee was exquisite, and the juices were fresh and colourful.

Presentation of an iced latte isn't something that many cafes will bother with. Heck, most lattes are exactly the same as a flat white in cafes. But not here. Here was for coffee snobs, without any of the snobbery associated.

The meals were ordered and arrived quick enough, leaving our party time to discuss plenty of topics and admire the local scenery and art deco furnishings. Watching the baristas roast the beans and prepare fresh pots of filtered coffee gave me something to look at that was far more interesting than a TV in the corner.

The food was piled high, fresh and hot, garnished appropriately and was interesting but not alien.

I mean brisket? With breakfast? Sure why not. Wow. The potato rosti, what a wonderful method of having some morning carbs! The bread was fresh, the leafy greens were steamed perfectly and poached eggs were cooked in a way that showed that the chefs were no amateurs. No vinegar taste, no overboiled yolks, yet each meal was served at the same time and the same temperature.

The service was very friendly. I got so thirsty that I needed to try an iced latte so I ordered one, and while it was busy, the waitress reassured me that it was still coming, however a bit delayed due to a recent influx of takeaway coffee orders. I understand, its a cafe as well as a restaurant.

It is the attention to little details that Laika made that made our day today. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely meal and coffees Laika.

I like this place because there is a friendly Korean lady who always says hello to me. Actually I think there are at least two friendly Korean ladies. And the latté art is "on fleek" as the cool kids say. But sometimes when I visit there is a funny man with a moustache who tries to chase me out before I even sit down. I think his name is Stan and he makes me sad. Sometimes when I arrive Stan is already waiting at the door with my coffee, he just wants to get rid of me. If I ever have the opportunity to get Stan arrested I will take it. The other unfortunate thing is that sometimes when I am sitting trying to read the staff will take their ipad and show me horror pictures, which is just completely uncalled for, and I suppose it is a negative. But on the other hand if you come to this place you can see a lot of Good Boys, and they recently held a competition for Good Boy of the year. It was great because even if your Good Boy was female you could still enter her into the competition. I don't know what the prize was but I hope Stan didn't choose it. I bought too many iced lattés and I had to change to a reusable cup with an annoying lid because I was destroying the planet, but now they use the fancy biopak cups so if I get fed up with the stupid lid I can take a cheat day and not feel guilt ridden. There is also a basketball hoop which will appeal to you if your favourite film was White Men Can't Jump. I don't know, normally I would never rate a place more than 5/7 but I'm in a good mood because of all the caffeine so I might rate it a solid 8 out of 7 iced lattés, just don't let Stan make...
