Customer service in the bistro was terrible. I had to ask where our food was as we had been waiting 35 minutes, the waitress said well it's a busy time, to which I said no I think everyone else has got their meals we have been waiting a fair amount of time and she just walked away. We ordered dishes including loaded fries which are listed differently than bowl of chips so you would expect two different potato dishes. When served the loaded fries which were in fact just loaded chips my welsh friend told the waitress these are not fries, fries are skinny, these are chips just letting you know maybe tell the kitchen. A few minutes later the other waitress comes to our table quite aggressively and states they are the loaded fries, again my friend stated these are chips, not fries, fries are the skinny ones to which she said not over here there not which we can only take to mean not in Australia. My friends are residents of Australia and have been for 13 years. So is the waitress now having a go to a person who she thinks is a visitor to Australia. My friend asked then why have you got chips and fries on the menu as two different potato dishes.?That's how it is done here was the reply and she states I'll take your loaded fries back and give you your money back. We at no time had asked for this as my friend wanted the loaded fries just not the bigger chips. She took the plate, I said you will need my card to which she yelled back over her shoulder you will just get cash. The rest of the dishes were lovely and the younger waitress was doing her best . It was interesting to note that we had finished our meals and were just chatting over over drinks nobody came to clear the plates which we had observed happen to others. We had a child who had been given a lollipop voucher and she went into the bistro to be served, the same rude waitress asked her what did she want and she replied a lollipop please I have a voucher and she was told just wait here and went and cleared plates off a table that no-one was sitting at,so made the child wait as she obviously did not want to be nice even to a child because she was with us. Very disappointed in customer service by a rude waitress. Great venue, good beer garden, rude waitress don't bother...
Read moreThis has to be a two part review because we are talking about a hotel/motel. Food and drinks in the hotel and accommodation in the motel part of the equation. A pit stop for lunch during a road trip from Sunshine Coast to Sydney. The place is well situated right in the centre of town. Adequate menu options available plus an electronic specials menu. Although some of the items on the specials menu were advertised but not available. Food is reasonably priced and our selection turned out to be pretty good. We took advantage of a bright sunny day and had our meal outside on a large patio overlooking the township. Worth the effort. The hotel has a second level above for what appears to be accommodation also overlooking the township. On that basis we made a spur of the moment decision to stay overnight. Unfortunately, and I blame myself totally for that particular ill advised course of action. We read the blurb on the hotel/motel website and I quote: “our clean and comfortable rooms offer convenience and great value. All of our rooms offer: Car parking. Ensuite bathrooms. Air conditioning. TV(including Fox Sport and Sky Channel) Tea/coffee facilities”. Sounds ok right. Unfortunately, in truth the reality was about as far from the vision as it is possible to be and still be in the realm of credibility. Possibly the worst decision amongst a host of very bad decisions I have ever made. You don’t generally expect to pay too much for a basic motel room over a pub in the country. Well, maybe I don’t. In hindsight the $100 price tag should have alerted me. Turns out the comfortable and convenient rooms are situated in something that looks very much like an oversized brick toilet block right smack in the middle of the parking lot at the back of the pub and right next to the Coles parking lot. Handy. The very best I can say about the room we had is cheap and nasty. I guess the old saying of ‘you get what you pay for’ is still true to this day. A one word description of the accommodation would be: diabolical. Next time I get the urge to act impulsively. Please someone anyone, get a gun and put...
Read moreIam a tourist from the Netherlands and flew 24 hours to Sydney and drove 6 hours to stay in your hotel with the intention to have a great time.||On our way to your hotel on the 2 th of Jan. we had a lot of unforseen traffic so i tried to call your hotel to ask them what our options are in case of a late arrival. I got someone on the line who said he could not hear me trough my phone. I tried my own Dutch company phone and still he said that he couldnt hear me.....i was stunned by this, felt not being taken serious.||I drove like hell to be at your hotel before 20.30 hours. We just arrived minutes before. At the checkin in your employee said that the reservation was starting a day later. I showed him my confirmation email that it was today the 2th of Jan. Till the 4th of Jan. After a long wait and some calls we could checkin afterall. The guy at the desk looked annoyed and brought us to our room, nr2.||Then today, the 3th of Jan., we came back at your hotel and just before 20.30 hours i tried to order a Super Salad at the Bistro desk. The girl there said it was not possible anymore. I said to her that it was not 20.30 hours yet! She looked at her watch and said, its one minute past 20.30 hour so its not possible anymore. I could only laugh and walk away shaking my head many times. I felt for the third time not being taken serious.||My conclusion after all this is that as a foreigner tourist you mean literally nothing to the staff who supposed to be at your service! Its a DISGRACE with capital letters!||Iam very interested in your opinion about this. I was a manager myself for 15 years, if i would have personell doing this, they would become a mark of a footsize 43 shoe in their back out of my company!!!||Sincerly yours,|L. de Boer/ Gail Ramos|Stayed in room nr 2 between 2 and 4th of...
