I was extremely disappointed to say the least with the lack of management.
My father and I ordered our meals today (Thai salad & pork belly bites) at the bar served by a young man. There was no cutlery at the bar so the young gentlemen said he would get some and bring them to the table (never happened).
We watched meal after meal being cooked and sat waiting on the counter to be handed out for over 5 minutes. (2 staff members were at the empty bar while food was getting cold for this duration)
We had 3 lots of food come to our table that wasnât ours.
My pork belly bites sat on the counter for 6 minutes while the staff were floating around. Finally the lady brought my meal but no cutlery which I waited for when my fathers meal was cooked which was 10 minutes apart.
My fathers meal then sat on the counter for the same duration till my father had enough and went and got his own food and cutlery.
By this time my food was stone cold!
This didnât stop more food coming to our table however.
The female staff was lovely and was always doing something however the young man I wouldnât pay to watch him drag his feet around and needs to be trained for a fast paced industry.
This was only while there was 3 tables to serve I would hate to see what they do when itâs busy.
I must say the chefs done a great job with cooking but was let down majorly by other staff and their inability to get the...
Read moreI recently travelled down to Lismore to ride the recently completed Lismore to Casino Rail Trail and chose to stay in accommodation rather than camp as I usually do. Most of the accommodation in Lismore is in the centre of the town and within walking distance to everything. The start of the Rail Trail is a short ride away - easily reachable by bike. The Hotel is virtually ' unmanned ' in that there is no reception or check in facilities. Rather you get a sms with a code that is valid for the length of your stay. If you need assistance you can ask at the 'pub' part of the hotel but if that is closed you might be in a spot of bother. Rooms are adequate with en suite and basic tea / coffee facilities. As in most hotels hangers seem to be in short supply. 3 for the room!! There is no parking available at the hotel - you have to use the street or the council parking behind the hotel. This is subject to a 3 hour maximum during business hours so beware. Bar and restaurant is great - friendly prompt effective service with great food. Steak cooked to perfection but minimum choice of gravy. Tons of seating in the quieter part of the hotel. Breakfast is not available but there are a number of eateries within a short walk. I ate at the Bank and the...
Read more2/4/25 Had lunch. Didn't stay so can't rate the above. Steak sandwich was delicious. Finally a steak sandwich with a sauce other than BBQ. Interesting slice of rib fillet, presumably off a roasted piece. Was tender and moist. Would've given it a 5 had it not been for the burnt half of one slice of sourdough. Took a little while to arrive as well. Chips were super crispy and fluffy on the inside. Tremendous range of beers on tap, including a dark beer. đ 4 â 10/4/25 A week later decided to go back because of the quality of the steak sandwich. Tried the southern fried chicken burger with chips and the market fish and chips.....I think the chef forgot the " southern" seasoning in the oilyish chicken batter and I assumed " market" Fish meant whatever was best that week, not the same frozen prebattered fillet as the fish and chip shop around the corner. The house salad was leaves with some dressing. The service was quicker today, but I'd rather wait. The 2 days were like chalk and cheese.....only in reverse. Had it not been for the previous steak sandwich today's meals...
