Helped my disabled, elderly housemate make an order for 4 pizzas under the cheap Tuesday special. Her pizza was for a gluten free Chicken and Bacon pizza, remove chicken and parsley and add double bacon and mushroom. They gave us an order that not only had chicken, but also pineapple. We called and politely explained that my housemate was deathly allergic to pineapple and we did not order pineapple. Unfortunately, because of some error which occurred somewhere in the system our receipt also reflected that pineapple was added. We did not add pineapple. Having worked previously as a Food health and safety supervisor, it has been an obligation Australia wide that if this were to occur, or if the food was not made to the customer satisfaction the order is to be replaced. When we asked for the single Pizza to be replaced, we were met with utter arrogance and disrespect. They demanded that we were to pay the full sum of the order ($50+) to have ONE pizza replaced. I have NEVER had any issues with any other food establishment to this degree before. This has filled all of us with disgust that this level of exploitation goes unchecked. This has been raised with Pizza Hut Australia customer service line, and will be followed to other relevant bodies.
Edit: they were very argumentative and disrespectful over the phone. Would talk over us when we were trying to raise our query and even raised their voices at us. When I asked them to please stop talking over us in a calm and polite manner, they doubled down in their arrogance. They then began to repeatedly say “just hang up and call customer service if you think it’s such a problem then”. Edit 2: Having just read another review from a month prior to this review stating that the staff do not use adequate PPE (Nitrile gloves etc). I immediately felt sick to think that this may have happened to the pizzas we received. Gloves, aprons and hair nets/hats are a mandatory part of ALL hospitality establishments...
Read moreTo be fair, I have not had Pizza Hut for years , so maybe from all of my experience, I've somehow underrated them as they were far better value than Domino's if we were comparing 3 pizzas + 3 sides . Firat off, the restaurant location is quite old, but it was very clean and tidy . The pizza smelt great, and the crust was spot on. There were only small issues all in all, but these make a huge difference to the eating experience . The bases needed more tomatoe sauce as it was almost non-existent . The cheesy garlic bread tasted like cheesy bread and was lacking that garlic omph ! The supreme had plenty of vegetables but was lacking any meat . The menu suggested smoky honey ham, beef, italian sausage & kalamata olives . I saw and tasted ground beef, mushrooms, green capsicum, and pineapple. The spud bites were also lacking any seasoning. The bbq meatlovers were the saving grace as it had plenty of sauce and a proportionate amount of protein . So, as far as family value goes, it is 7/10 . But with the above taken into consideration, I am.being very fair, suggesting this was a 6/10 . The only other thing I could critique is the staff member was on his phone the entire time, and when it came to cutting the pizzas , not one had 8 pieces, but 7 due to very inconsistent sizes where the pizza slice was a 1/4 or 2 slices in size . Read moreWe are regular customers and made a late (9.25pm) order for delivery tonight. When the order arrived I was asked if I knew what time the closed (apparently it's 10pm if you were wondering). I replied with no I don't and I was then asked to ensure in future I order earlier or preorder as I was inconvincing them. Apparently they had to run around and I quote "like headless chickens cleaning and also trying to ensure they made delicious, high quality food". I am attaching a photo of the apparent "high quality food" that was received for reference.
A word of advice: if you don't want to be "running around like headless chooks, working until 10pm" I advise you stop accepting orders after 9.30 or adjust your opening hours on a Sunday. Your open hours are until 10pm... We also have very different definitions of "high quality food" so you might want to look into that.
