I bought a cake from these guys for my parent's 25th wedding anniversary. The party went great but buying a cake from Roberto's was easily the best decision I made. I must preface this review by saying that this in no way a paid review but you may initially think otherwise by the amount of glaze(excuse the pun) that you are about to witness in the following lines.
I bought a vanilla sponge cake for 100 people and it had a printed image as well as a flurry of other decorations and design requests. The decorator stayed with me for approximately 20 minutes patiently listening to all the ideas I had. She was absolutely phenomenal and respectfully guided me and helped me understand what would work well together, as well as which ideas were practical and which weren't. It didn't feel like they were just trying to make a sale, but rather that they wanted to make the cake that adhered as close to my vision as possible, and a product that they could take pride in. All this, ended up costing me just around the $300 mark, so bonus points for the pricing too.
The cake was a massive hit, it looked absolutely phenomenal and exactly what I wanted. Heck, I thought it would look messy because I didn't have the best ideas, but the decorators sheer skill outweighed my penchant for poor design. We had so many friends gushing over the cake and trying to find out where we bought it from. One of our friends even said that he was going to make sure he ordered from Roberto's for his 25th wedding anniversary next year. Granted, his dreams were ripped apart, much as I imagine he was later that night in the car, when his wife begrudgingly reminded him that next year they were only celebrating their 22nd, but you understand the sentiment.
If you've had the patience to read down this far, first of all, I commend you. You should reward yourself. Go get yourself some cake, maybe from Roberto's perhaps. Secondly, you're probably wondering about flavour.
IT. TASTED. AMAZING.
I alone ate so much of that huge cake that I refuse to disclose the exact amount publicly, but it was delicious.
I've since bought pretty much any cake for any occasion from here. It's continued to be a big hit every single time. If that sounds appealing to you, if you like good cake, or if you like when a business treats you with respect and puts quality first, you now know where...
Read moreAfter having bought cakes from Robertos for years, I have found the service and response to my recent enquiry extremely unprofessional . I rang because my husband late 11th Saturday afternoon bought me a carrot cake for my birthday on 12 Sunday. we realised after putting it back in the cake box the best before was the 13th. I rang because I thought they would replace or partially refund due to the dates as usually cakes have a week to consume. After being told by the lady that answered the phone that I could freeze it! and that clearly the girls didn't check the dates when the purchase was made! I said that isn't that an important factor of the business that customers shouldn't have to check themselves??? I said it was really disappointing and she simply said 'Oh well" repeating again that I can freeze the cake. I know that Robertos sell soon to expire cakes for a discounted price but we paid full price. So be sure to ask the best before if purchasing products from...
Read moreNo joke the best RockyRoad I've ever tasted. Has to be the cocoa that they use. Tastes of high quality which makes you eat less because you get that immediate chocolate fix.
The white chocolate RockyRoad is good, but I wouldn't recommend it.
First time entering the store today, was expecting maybe some small slices to choose from. I'm still unaware if this is an option or if you are required to buy half or a full cheesecake.
The chocolate-coconut ice was average. Tastes like a Bounty chocolate. The pink coconut ice was less good. Wouldn't recommend this.
The peppermint fudge has an interesting texture. Tastes more like a white chocolate than a fudge. Would recommend trying this.
I'll be back. These products are of high quality and I've only...
