KFC Springwood — Restaurant in Logan City

If I could give this store 0, I would. The store needs to be reviewed and/or shut down. If people haven’t been poisoned already, I’d be surprised. Had we not have been tired after a long trip, we would have left and eaten elsewhere.

Our group of 3 visited this store on a family holiday to Queensland. It was the most unhygienic KFC we have ever visited.

The countertops including the chip dispensing area were filthy, with food particles, chips and lettuce littering all surfaces. The chips sat cold and unseasoned for long periods of time in the serving container. Burgers were thrown by the person working in the back onto the dirty countertop next to the chip container.

The floors, tables and seats were littered with food particles. The man changing bins just left the new bin liner on the floor in the area where people lined up to be served.

We witnessed the female manager in the back of the store near the drive through area throwing food in the bin and then using her foot/leg to push food further down into the bin. Presumably, the bacteria from that was then on her clothes and potentially transferred onto food. It’s poor practice.

When we arrived, a young mother attended the counter in front of us and indicated that the toilets were dirty and there was no toilet paper in either toilet (there was two). The staff member went to the back of the store and bought out an industrial sized toilet roll and handed it to her. She asked for help as she had two young children with her and received no help whatsoever. She walked away, saying “I guess I will just have to work it out then”.

The unisex bathrooms were also filthy when I visited. There was urine all over the floor and on the toilet seats. The sanitary disposal bin when lifted, was completely full.

The food itself was mostly cold and at that point, we couldn’t enjoy our meal regardless, as we were honestly concerned that we would be poisoned.

The staff were slack. They were constantly touching their faces and then touching food, sometimes ungloved.

Numerous people (including us) visited the front counter as their order was incorrect. No manager arrived at the counter to apologise and the young men acting as servers seemed unconcerned and disinterested.

Personally, I didn’t receive my drink, any cutlery or serviettes despite ordering coleslaw and potato and gravy that clearly needed a spoon for serving.

Dear KFC, we need to talk.

I write this as I sit in your disgusting excuse of a establishment in Springwood just south of Brisbane. Where do I start. The restaurant was an absolute pig sty, although I feel as if they may be unfair to draw a comparison between the two, after all pigs don't know any better. But at this stage I was willing to let the state of the place slide as my hunger grew I formed a line at the unmanned counter as staff member after staff member paraded around the bench like a scene out of the Truman show laughing and talking amongst them selves while now a swarm of people have gathered behind me. And a drive thru line longer than peak hour traffic. Finally just as I turned my back to leave I hear the faint sound of a super enthusiastic staff member beckon me back inside. That was sarcasm btw. Don't blame me for what I did next as hunger got the better of me. I placed my order and asked the staff member what was the reason for the hold up. She replied that they were "struggling". Now when I think of people "struggling" I think of a single mother trying to juggle a career and a new born not a team of people cooking chicken.... It seems like the only thing that was struggling was a lack of discipline and management staff. If I was to believe they were truly "struggling" then surely the staff member replying to text msgs while walking to the waiting cars from the drive thru would have been spoken to. Or the staff memeber having a d'n'm, while she had a customer's food in hand while taking it to a waitng car would have been in more of a rush surely. After finishing my dinner on the table I wiped down prior to eating on "your welcome" I went to the toilet to wash my hands and surprise, surprise there's no soap. At this point I was mad at myself for letting you disappoint me again. I couldn't believe that I thought you would have changed. So this is where you and me cut ties. I was once a fiend for your secret 11 herbs and spices but my heart can't take the disappointment of your poor quality "service" and disgusting restaurants and hygiene standards anymore. If you are willing for your paying customers to sit in the last diners filth I can't only imagine what goes on about...

I went through drive through and ordered a value pack/ box. I specifically asked for chicken thighs and drum sticks, I was advised yes it’s ok when I ordered it. I specifically asked not to be given chicken breast . They gave me 2 pieces of breast , one wing and 1 chicken thighs. When I tried to confirm my order at the pick up window, I was told “ we did our best and it’s a combination “. Why would a 4 piece meal include 2 pieces of dry and cold breast I specifically asked Not to be given This is rude and inconsiderate. I was given more of what I didn’t want and less and nothing of what I actually asked for. If it’s a combination, please let me know when I order , not after I paid for it and Please don’t go out of your way to give me the exact pieces I asked you Not to give me! The girl at the window was rude , abrupt and dismissive. She did not even apologise, just said “ we did our best, I speak to the girl who took your order”. She went out of her way to pack me something I wouldn’t eat and specifically asked not to be included in my meal and only one piece of what I asked for. That is not a combination of pieces, that’s just being rude and not caring about your customer at all and doing your best to piss them off! Well done! I would not have ordered that meal if I was advised it’s not going to be what I wanted, specially that I got 2 pieces of what we don’t eat and I asked for it not yo be included and I was advised it’s ok and they accomodate my request. This happened just now . To the person who packed my order and served me at the window, get some manner and not be so mean, you didn’t have to go out of your way to make sure to pack me breasts !
