Located not far from the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club, this cafe has picturesque views, inside and out - prime real estate. Outdoor deck seating is in high demand, and you may be lucky to be joined by a cockatoo vying for a snack. This is a groovy place separated into different dining areas - a bar, a fireplace, the deck/grassed area and lounge. The service here is excellent, and be sure to ask what the ‘special of the day’ is, as you may be lucky to get a home-made rosti, like me! They serve breakfast from 7.30 am, lunch from 12 pm and dinner from 5 pm [you can make reservations online, but walk-ins are accepted too]. They also do take away orders. I was lucky enough to have my breakfast outside while sitting in the shade, with views of the ocean as my entertainment/meditation. I cannot fault this venue, the reasonable prices, the staff or the food delivered—a must when staying in Lorne. Recommendations Hickory smoked bacon, and poached eggs on toasted sourdough [I added mushrooms] - a hearty breakfast, huge serve and ever so tasty. The mushrooms, so buttery - mmmm. Set me up for the rest of the day. Home-made rosti - this was the size of a brick and reminded me of scalloped potatoes layered lasagne style - so good!!!! Long black coffee/ mixed juices - their coffee is on point and their juice freshly squeezed.

Popped in real quick for a bite while on a tour of Australia's southern coast. Mostly outdoor seating and super casual atmosphere. Coffees and sweets inside and crowded with a mix of locals and tourists. Ready to order and leaning towards a big, juicy burger but the manager and waiter both ranted and raved about their special, The wild Atlantic Salmon on a fresh salad. I desperately wanted to give the salmon a 5 Star, but when you enjoy the salad more than the salmon then you know something isn't quite right with the fish. #undercooked. I had to send it back to cook longer. I really was gonna get a burger. A bit disappointed but you can't win em all. Still enjoyed the meal though and service was friendly and they were apologetic.. And that goes a long way with me.

Based on Google ratings I visited this place for breakfast. It was drizzling outside and hence opted to seat inside rather than outdoors. The cafe is quite big inside and had clearly seen some very good days, though it appears to be struggling a bit now (I may be wrong though). We were greeted with a smile and shown our table in a cosy little corner. The table must be recently varnished as it was shiny but little sticky. Order was through QR code and very efficient. Cappuccino was excellent. Cinnamon waffle with maple syrup and vanilla ice cream - was excellent. Scrambled egg on sourdough bread with mushroom on the side. Egg was bland and tasteless - may be too much milk was added.

Today my family and I ate at Lorne central for our last breakfast on our holiday to the great ocean road. We were more than impressed with how many people were inside and outside the restaurant, and we were even more impressed when we were seated (we thought it was full). The customer service was excellent, more than welcoming waiters & waitresses greeting with happy smiles and kind words. When I first picked up the menu I was surprised about how affordable the food is. There were options from $1-40 which was more than enough to encourage a 5 star. There was many options on the menu ranging from big breakfasts, toasties, kebabs, cereal and bagels. It was very difficult to decide what I wanted because there was so many options. Our bunches arrived fairly quickly after ordering even with a crowd. When I took a bite of the food I was even more astonished than the prices, this food was amazing, I had ordered the open steak sandwich with chips and I believe it was the best steak sandwich I’ve eaten. It was all evened out and I did not feel overwhelmed by the taste as everything complemented each other perfectly. I also drank a mixed berry smoothie which was delicious in every way. I was overall happy with my meal and I would definitely recommend it to anyone...

5 stars for service by Benjamin 3 stars for food

Kudos to Benjamin for his perfect service on his first day of the job! Super friendly and helpful.

Asked one the staff at the bar if I could use they charger just for 30 mins as we had to drive back to Melbourne and didn’t have much battery left, but the lady said both are being used for the restaurant and can’t be used, didn’t even check the percentage maybe they were full. (Having worked in hospitality for years, I know of someone is willing to be helpful or just doing the job - which is by the way nothing wrong with it but it would never make you want to return) anyways, I told Benjamin the situation and he happily lent us his personal power bank which was very kind of him (you’d never forget these sort of Kindnesses)

Food was pretty average, mushroom Arancini, sumac calamaris, and the other food that was made over bread (like pizza) that I can’t remember the name we’re pretty average to be honest. Calamaris had strong taste of flour and sumac taste wasn’t enough, arancini needed more cheese and garlic and the other one also likewise.

Thank you Benjamin and wish you...
