We’ve had good experiences in the past but recently they have been pretty sub par, the last experience was bad enough that I’m writing this review. We ordered a piece of chocolate cake, when we went to pick up we were handed a cookie instead because they “didn’t have any cake”. I would have preferred just having my money back, also the cookie was awful. If you don’t have something, write sold out on your menu. Don’t hand me a replacement of something I don’t want. They didn’t give us our drinks with the order which we didn’t realise till we got home. When we called they said “next time you come in you can have 2 for free”. Again, would have preferred my money back. I can’t see we will be coming in again, given that to top off all the cold food, the burger was so awfully “put together” that the bun on the bottom was soggy, barely covered half the ingredients, and it was so wet that there was a hole in the bottom of the cardboard box that was seeping juices into the bag. 2 stars because we have had some good experiences in the past, but the last couple times (especially the most recent) have been shocking.

High Street Northcote is slowly becoming a vegan food haven and 300 Grams is contributing to the cause. Nearly everything on their menu can be made vegan, including the beef, chicken and cheeseburgers and sundaes. The sides of chips and fried cauliflower are also naturally vegan. The beef is made with mock meat while the chicken is fried mushroom, which isn't really a stand-in for chicken imo but I didn't try it, so can't vouch for or against. My cheeseburger, however, I can get behind 100%. Both the party and cheese were incredibly "convincing". The burger was fresh and full of veg and the perfect amount of sauce. I also loved the cauliflower bites, which had a taste and crumb that reminded me of Vietnamese salt and pepper tofu. The sweet potato chips are also great. Save some for after your meal, as their delicious dipped in the coconut soft serve sundae. I really love the fact that the shop stocks solely healthy beverages including kombucha and sugar-free, naturally sweetened colas. Pro-tip: Pour some into your sundae to make your own spider 🙌

Visited on their opening celebration day. Even though they gave away hundreds of burgers, they didn't miss a beat, were very friendly, and fulfilled the orders very quickly. The proof is in bun, and let me tell you – if they keep this up, they will rank in the top 5 in Melbourne. Their chicken sandwich was unlike any I've ever had – it was crispy, puffy, and extremely flavoursome. If you sit and watch them prepare it, they individually cut fresh pieces of chicken breast and lovingly bash them into a thin layer, ready to be smothered in the amazing crumb. Needless to say, I loved every bite. Their beef cheeseburger was impeccable. The crust on the hand-pressed patties was perfect and there was a deep beefy flavour – as there should be. Each ingredient was a perfect symphony, layering flavour upon flavour. The generous layer of Westmont pickles was a major highlight. I will be back.

Attended yesterday evening with what should have been plenty of time (20 minutes) to place an order and get to my train. Venue was extremely quiet, one order in progress and one recent order in front of me. Music was ridiculously loud (like that's really needed so late at night).

I stand and wait, while progressively being deafened by the music being blasting from the speakers at a level I'm sure the EPA would take issue with. It hits the 15 minute mark, and the time for that train is rapidly approaching. I ask the staff for an update, since there's absolutely no sense of urgency displayed between the two staff working. I understand that this isn't a Maccas burger, but if I hadn't asked where my order was at and pushed for the staff to actually get a move on so I didn't miss what should have been an easy timeline, it would have taken well over 20 minutes for my order to be ready with nobody around. When I've visited previously I've not had to wait anywhere near that long with swarms of customers.

Invest in your staff, both in terms of appropriate resourcing and training, because the customers you had present last night were pretty peeved by how your business is...

Beyond disappointed. Lukewarm food and service.

We ordered two burgers, a large fries and one thick shake at 8:00pm last night. In total, 3 customers to literally 6 staff including the others waiting. It would take 30 minutes for our order to be finished, despite this.

In that time, four of the staff members were mainly arguing and talking by the food warmers. They didn’t interact at all with the young girl serving at the window, so while we frustrated customers were outside, she didn’t have any answers to provide us (not her fault at all). They ignored her and us for most of the 30 minutes.

It turned out our food had been cooked and sitting under a warmer for who knows how long, and we were waiting 30 minutes on a milkshake.

No explanation, no offer to substitute the milkshake to save our time, no partial refund. When we walked the less than 5 min home, the burgers were lukewarm and the fries cold. We debated microwaving it all but were too hungry by that time.

For $52? What a joke. Plenty of great spots on high street for a similar price point with...
