I ate with my partner and the atmosphere was very nice. There were plenty of places for couples to sit, indoor and outdoor. We sat outside and ordered via the QR code. We ordered scrambled eggs with baked beans for me, poached eggs with bacon for my GF and a serve of chips to share. Chips came out first and we enjoyed them but I did note that $10.17 for half (a small) bowl of shoestring fries was a bit steep. My scrambled eggs were overcooked and a bit cold. My side of baked beans was hot enough and made my food eatable. GF’s meal came with a dead fruit fly on one of her eggs, I quickly picked it off before too much fuss could be made but when she found her food to be cold, her eggs overcooked and her $6.50 side of bacon chewy it was just too much. Her coffee was also meant to be an oat milk mocha but tasted like an oat cappuccino. The food looked like it could be good but maybe was left sitting too long to go cold. Hard blame the kitchen or service for this.

Advieh was a rather unique cafe serving Middle Eastern brunch meals. We ordered the chicken shish, falafel tahini, and their famous haloumi fries. The chicken shish and falafel tahini were delicious, although a bit small in portion, and these 'plates' came with flat breads and our choice of dips and salads which was nice. The haloumi fries was also very tasty, although a bit chewy, and it came with a nice zesty lemon wedge. The ambiance was very green with all the plants inside. Unfortunately though, this attracted so many bugs hovering over our food which was a bit gross.

Advieh has opened my eyes to Middle Eastern food and is one of my favourite cafes! → Easily accessible, in the heart of Seddon. Plenty of free street parking around. → Easy to grab a table. Although bookings are recommended post-COVID, I forgot to make one but was still immediately offered a table upon arrival. → Incredible food. My favourite is the Falafel lunch plate with two salads, flat bread and dip. Halloumi fries are also a must! → Spacious and vibrant atmosphere, filled with beautiful lanterns and plants. → Friendly and accomodating staff.

Loved the food, fresh and tasty. Would definitely come back. I'd like to advise though that having outdoor heaters so near tables is both unhealthy due to CO emissions and uncomfortable. I don't like to complain, but my daughter and I became overwhelmed by the smell and I felt nauseous and so asked for the heater to be switched after a while. A couple sitting across from us felt that both the gas from the hot water vent in the yard behind and the what was left in the air from the outdoor heater was too much, so asked to be moved inside, so it wasn't an isolated issue.

I found all the staff lovely, but I was rather taken aback by the curt manner of the lady with the short brown bob at the counter. Perhaps, I'd got it wrong, but I'd asked the waiter where we pay and my understanding was that he told us to go up the front. I didn't want to be in the way of wait staff busily serving, but I was left waiting with my daughter for a few minutes whilst no one made eye contact at the counter. I was patiently waiting with my phone out ready to pay when this lady in an abrupt tone eventually said "Is there anything I can help you with?" I found her manner quite aggressive. I explained that I wanted to pay. I would've expected "Did you enjoy your meal?" or some such pleasantry, I got nothing, not even a thank you.

It doesn't take much to be friendly or at least pleasant with customers. I worked in restaurants in my teens/early twenties and realise how stressful a busy venue can be, but at the very least customers should leave feeling like they've had a...

Food was amazing thankyou. However on arrival we stood at the front for a few minutes. The waitress with the black hair colour Bob cut style, came out made no eye contact, no hello. She just stood there looking at her ipad. My partner asked her if it was ok if we sat on an outdoor table around the side. Still making no eye contact she said "no you need to stand here and wait until I'm ready". Then she added "I'll serve you when I'm ready". WOW. She then walked inside. Two women who were waiting behind us commented on how rude she was (as they overheard the way she spoke to my partner). Finally she came out again and once again without making eye contact asked "how many 2"? We replied no 4 Then she just walked around the corner and pointed to the table. Our 3rd person arrived a minute or so after. Ordered 3 coffees, I had a Turkish coffee because there was no lactose free milk. Our 4th person arrived and mentioned the reason he doesn't eat here a lot is because of how ride he was treated previously. Such a shame because your food is beautiful. All the other staff treated us very well i might say though. Would be a good idea to print out something daily with salad descriptions, rather than asking people to go inside to look at the selection. Or your waiting staff could just tell us what's...

I’ve visited Advieh multiple times and adore their delicious menu and beautiful atmosphere, however I had a very strange, disappointing experience yesterday. Looked over the coffee menu and decided to order the “filter” $7 and first asked if it was batch brew to confirm. A long wait later I was served the strangest DIY pour over coffee set??? This was so baffling to me. You may as well chuck an espresso machine on the customer’s table and walk off. The only way to make a good tasting coffee from this would be if the filter paper was big enough to actually fit the carafe, and we were also handed a scale, timer, and detailed instructions. I see the creative vision but the execution and product just don’t add up. If you order a pour-over coffee, the high price is for the knowledge of the barista, and the time and precision it takes to brew the coffee correctly.

Next, I ordered our favourite fritters but unfortunately under a thin layer of smashed avocado was a rock hard half avocado that we couldn’t get a knife through 🥹 why did the chefs even send it out like that 🥹. The lovely waitress replaced immediately so all was good but was left feeling awkward and uncomfortable when paying.

Once again, genuinely love this place and hate to provide negative feedback. Hope this is...
