Afghan Charcoal Master Kebabs — Restaurant in Melbourne

My family have been repeat customers at this restaurant since they opened. There have been issues with wrong orders or missing items in the past and we have left it go as we enjoy the food. The food is super expensive, small portions and we pay a minimum of $90 to feed 4-6 people. However today, we ordered two whole chickens and we clearly did not get what we ordered. We tried to call and let them know and the lady on the phone was incredibly rude and dismissive and insisted we said the wrong thing during the order. We went back to the restaurant and instead of offering a reasonable solution, they insisted they are out of chicken. We ended up getting a refund of $38 (out of the total $95 we had paid), and they even had the audacity to ask for their bread back!! Absolutely disgusting. What a shame to lose loyal customers over two chickens. Will not be coming up and after the way I saw them treat my mother, I'll take every opportunity to let everyone know how awful the...

Previous owners were great. The food was tasty and the customer service was ok. This is critical feedback that I am hoping you take onboard to fix your services. The moment we walked in there was no smell of food, which made me wonder did anything even cook here today? Previous owners used to cook fresh infront of the customers and there was a lovely charcoal smell in the atmosphere. The prices have gone up and portion sizes have dropped. I might have as well eat half a plate of rice at home then pay $24. Not value for money at all. Taste of the mince kebab was bland. No salt, no spices, nothing. It was also very small. There was no charcoal taste, it just tasted grilled... previous charcoal taste was much better. The food appeared quickly out of the nowhere without any smell or visual of anyone cooking. Loved the food here. The meat was so tender, juicy and flavorful. Such a tasty treat. They made the kebab fresh after we ordered which made it even nicer. Bread was also done after ordering and it was super fresh and soft. Really loved the customer service, that was the standout. We went here late around 9:50ish. Went to a couple of other places nearby and they said they are closed. But the gentleman here who was the owner I think was super friendly and nice. He agreed to take our order eventhough they were practically closed. He even gave us some extras and chatted to us the whole time while cooking. Haven't had such friendly encounter and service for a long time.The dining space was very clean and large with many seats available. A middle eastern vibe through it as well.
