Pho has always been my go-to comfort food and a treat when I eat out. Pho and Buncha used to be one of my favorite to order while the food is still great, cant say the same for the service.
There used to be a lovely lady who knew my regular order, but she’s no longer there. Since then, service has been inconsistent. About two months ago, I visited in the afternoon when only three tables were occupied. I waited over 30 minutes for my chicken pho, which never arrived. When I went to cancel at the counter, the staff seemed surprised and asked me to wait five more minutes. No one came to me to check even after showing my face saying "im still waiting for food". The ladies were just looking at me passing my table. Anyway, I stayed to avoid wasting food, but it was frustrating. I let it slide since it was the first issue in years.
Today, I went back and the service was even worse. A guy in a green shirt took my order, but communication was very poor. I clearly asked for shredded chicken pho and repeated the word "shredded" but he somehow thought I meant beef. When I clarified again when he came back to bring water, he just said “oh! ok.” The dish that came looked and smelled like beef pho with chicken on it. I didn’t bother complaining as i dont want to strech them further so I just ate it. I was shaking my head, because its my treat day and I got the wrong food. Food these days are so expensive, everything is expensive and to get the wrong order is just so frustrating.
I understand hospitality is tough and staffing is hard, but this has become a recurring issue. I’m genuinely considering trying other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. I don’t want to keep leaving disappointed.
Anyway, avoid busy hours here. And if see less staff and its packed, I would reconsider. They often rush your food for the sake of just serving it or not...

Read moreAs a Vietnamese myself I thought the food was mid. We ordered a prawn & pork fried rice that was just frozen peas, carrots and corn mixed with frozen cocktail prawn and charsiu with plain white rice. There was no flavour to it whatsoever, so that was disappointing… We also ordered a lemon chicken that was… basic. The spring rolls were small and basic as well. I ordered a prawn & pork salad, the sauce was nice but the prawn crackers were stale.
The Bun Bo Hue flavours were very good and authentic but they didn’t bring any veggies, dipping sauce or lemon to eat it with.
Overall, I would say this is a “good” Vietnamese restaurant for western taste because they don’t know how it’s really eaten in a traditional way.
Also, one of the waitress was a little obnoxious, I’m sorry, she was joking with every single person that walked in. It was cute and funny at first but it became annoying sitting there eating and listening to her…
However, the atmosphere of the place is very nice, the decoration is simple and pretty. We didn’t wait too long to get served even though we had to remind them of a couple things.
Unfortunately we won’t come back but it’s good that they have a lot of customers and...
