A True Hidden Gem – Authentic Vietnamese Burmese Delight! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We just visited this place today, and I can confidently say it's an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped in, we were impressed by the warm, inviting atmosphere. The ambience is both cozy and elegant, with traditional Vietnamese and Burmese touches that give it a truly authentic feel. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the design, from the lighting to the decor. It sets the perfect mood whether you're coming for a casual lunch or a relaxed evening meal.
The service was exceptional, fast, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations, which made us feel welcomed and well taken care of from start to finish.
As for the food, absolutely delicious. If you're a fan of Southeast Asian cuisine, this place delivers on every front. The dishes are flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Each bite felt like a small journey through Vietnam and Burma.
A real highlight of our meal was the iced coffee. It's the original Vietnamese iced coffee, and it tastes just like what you'd find on the streets of Hanoi. Strong, smooth, and perfectly sweetened, it's a must-try. We also tried the mix and iced coffee, which was equally impressive. I highly recommend ordering both if you're a coffee lover.
Overall, this is a great place to visit and we will definitely be coming back again. Authentic food, great service, and a beautiful setting – five stars...
Read moreAnh Banh Mi in Ivanhoe. This isn't just your average sandwich shop, folks. This is a temple of deliciousness, a shrine to the art of the banh mi. Forget your soggy Subway footlongs and your overpriced cafe paninis – this is the real deal. First of all, the bread. Oh, sweet mother of all things carb-loaded, that bread. It's like a fluffy cloud that's been toasted to golden perfection, with a crispy crust that shatters with every bite. Then there's the filling. We're talking tender, marinated meats, pickled veggies that sing with tangy goodness, and a symphony of herbs and spices that'll make your tastebuds do the cha-cha. And let's not forget the chilli. Now, I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to spice, but Anh Banh Mi's chilli sauce is something else. It's got a fiery kick that'll clear your sinuses and make you question your life choices, but it's also strangely addictive. You'll find yourself sweating, gasping for air, and yet somehow still reaching for another bite. But the best part? The price. You can score yourself a banh mi masterpiece for less than the cost of a fancy coffee. Seriously, it's practically a crime against economics. So next time you're in Ivanhoe and feeling peckish, ditch the diet and head straight to Anh Banh Mi. Just be prepared to queue – this place is popular for a reason. And maybe bring a fire extinguisher, just in case that chilli sauce gets a little too...

On the menu: 🥖 Crispy pork roll 🥧 Pâté chaud
While the bánh mì here is a little more expensive than the bánh mì you may usually get from Springvale / Richmond, I have become more okay with increasing prices of Asian food. If we are willing to pay $28 for a bowl of pasta, why not pay $11 for a banh mi, which is made up of so many different ingredients, all prepared in advance through countless hours of labour? 👩🍳
I felt that this bánh mì deviated slightly from the traditional with the use of hoisin sauce, however the bánh mì as a whole was not CRUMBY as all 😍 All other ingredients adhered to the standard - the pork has a very satisfying crunch, the bread and the other ingredients singing of freshness.
