4.5 stars. Great quality ice cream. The lady serving was patient helping me to find and select my flavours. Like the special flavours, Boccochini, Ricotta & prickly pear was pretty cool. I settled for my favourite, pistachio, and teamed it up with mint and choc chip. Excellent creaminess, very smooth. Pistachio was a tad salty. My favourite pistachio is from Picolina where it's dairy free and there are chunky bits of pistachio. But this is up there, probably the 2nd all time pistachio icecream joint. Mint choc chip was ok. Chocolate tasted alright. It was shaved thin enough to melt easily in the mouth to accompany the min ice cream. The waffle biscuit was a nice crunchy touch. The cone was excellent. Size wise, a bit smaller than other places. Probably due to the more liquidy consistency of the pistachio which could slide off if too top heavy. Highly recommend.

This place was totally out of my way, but I’d drive anyway for fantastic ice cream. Service was super friendly and attentive, staff seemed really happy to be there, even if it was a cold Saturday night, the place was inviting. They have some unique flavours, especially their weekly specials, such as the basque cheesecake. The standout of the visit was the peanut butter ice cream, creamy with heaps of flavour, but doesn’t taste like chunks of peanut butter. The vanilla seemed to be made from Tahitian beans, had some floral bites, a bit different to what you usually see (embarrassing if I totally got this wrong). Also, they have a loyalty card!!!

We’re an ice-cream household and I’ve been beyond excited about Boca Gelato opening after I read in Broadsheet that ex Coda/Tonka chef @adamdsylvachef would be getting into artisanal ice cream/gelato! Located in Ivanhoe so if you’re within 5km it is a MUST TRY! Extra points to the Jess Lemon collab - Fior de latte gelato with caramelised corn flakes and honey caramel spheres tastes like childhood cereal and dreams! 🥰☁️✨ Really excited to see what else they come out with! #melbournedesserts #melbournelockdown

Was absolutley disqusted by the service i recived from the staff and manager. I called up to complain about the shocking experience i recived from the business the day before. i went into the store excited to try the ice-cream shop as i have heard lots of good things about it ! i asked to try some of the flavours as they had unieque names to it and each ice-cream shop i have gone to has a diffrent twist on the taste and flavouring to their ice-cream. I was very appaled and shocked to hear that they were not providing taste tests as it was not ' covid safe' and it is considered to be ' eating' in the store.Every ice-cream shop i have been to in the last few weeks have still been able to provide me with taste tests. i consider this is quite ridiclous as how is a business suppose to stay open if customers cannot even try their product? My next issue is after i had to buy a take home tub of the 2 flavours i could not even experience trying , i wanted to get one of their loyalty cards , but i was then told it was not redeemable on take home tubs ? which i thought was pretty bad as the amount going into the tub could of been the exact of 4 scoops in a cup which if that was the case i would of been able to redeem ' points'. I think that Boca really needs to improve on their service and really take a hard look at their business tecniques at the moment cause if they keep going the way the are going they will have no...

Owner/manager very rude. Greases customers off, doesn't make eye contact and appears disinterested. Only appears to assist when the store is empty. Staff are slow which is forgivable as it's new business, but don't expect to be in and out quickly. Serving sizes are a joke. I noticed on another review the business replied the serving sizes are bigger than their competitors - this is easily disproven by walking 80 meters up the road to Cosi Duci. We've been purchasing the 1.5L take home tubs, they never fill it to the bottom - ever. We won't be going back again which is a shame as the Dark Chocolate Sorbetti is very good. Not how you run a business in Ivanhoe - where customer servive can make or break a business - I'll give it another six months and hopefully...
