Andy's Place Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

Friendly service, but need more clarity on the menu items

We ordered the Andys Benedict. The menu specified that bacon or salmon are add ons and cost extra. So we did not ask for these bur the lady taking the order asked if we wanted bacon/salmon, when we asked if they were add ons she said it wasn’t. But later extra charges were added to our bill.

In addition to this there was also another confusion by the waitress on another order we made(Andy’s breakfast tower tier 1). But this was handled very professionally by the restaurant by allowing us to order something else from the menu in place of this with a complementary coffee.

Went to Andy’s place yesterday upon hearing all the good reviews.. to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Staff wandering about not doing anything had to ask staff after 15 minute wait if we needed to order at the register, was told no will be with you soon another 10mins staff finally came took order . Ordered the chicken burger and chips. After another long wait finally received meal. Chips were burnt to the crisp managed to have three thank goodness they gave tomato sauce with the meal, one bite of the chicken burger also burnt actually black I was done.. paid the order and left. Won’t be back. Hopefully some improvement happens...

Cute little cafe. Brekky for 5. Sat outside. Had chilli scramble with a side of mushrooms, hungry big brekkie, brekkie burger, pesto chicken sandwich and the bruschetta eggs. Felt the Chilli scramble was under seasoned. Easily fixed with salt and pepper on the table. Great chilli hit. Alot of tomato within the scramble make it a little watery. Everyone else loved their dishes. The burger especially was a favourite. Serving staff were friendly. Would have rated higher but one of our meals was served nearly 10 mins after the rest of us and then after we asked where it was. Cashier was very friendly and engaging. Coffee was solid. Overall...
