Gorgeous cafe, wonderful service, phenomenal coffee, good food but mediocre chilli egg scramble :(

FOOD: We ordered the ‘Red Velvet Pancakes’ and the ‘Chilli Scrambled Eggs’. The red velvet pancakes were wonderful! The blend of flavours was great although the pancake was slightly soggy 😞 The brownie crumble made up for it however and I like how it was cocoa rich and not just a sugar brownie! It really made it taste like a red velvet pancake! The ‘Chilli Egg Scramble’ sounded AMAZING but when I tasted it... it was underwhelming :( The bagel was abit too hard for my liking so when I bit into it, it hurt my mouth abit. The chilli scramble was also not as seasoned as I liked it to be and the salmon was good but a small portion in comparison to the lots of microleaves and also cherry tomatoes.

COFFEE: Amazing! Axil never fails with their coffee and when dining in; it is even better

SERVICE & PROTOCOL: Pleasant and kind crew! They were strict with protocol and quick to seat! They also were cheery on a dull Friday morning.

AMBIENCE: I had to give a special shoutout to the ambience; it is phenomenal! With it being connected to Melbourne central tower, I highly recommend exiting to it because it’s breathtaking!

Overall, the cafe was gorgeous and a good experience but it was tragic that the chilli egg scramble was not the greatest :-( However, everything else was up to mark! (still leaning my bias to Axil in...

Unexpectedly a 5 star cafe.

Customer service: Pretty good. Can be more aware of cleaning plates up much faster Atmosphere: Great!

Menu & Food review: Drinks 1.Iced Coffee - Iced Mocha - not as good as iced coffee Flat White - the best!

Mains Verde Scrambled Eggs Baked Eggs + Chorizo

Discussion & recommendations: We ventured to many of the famous cafes/brunch places looking for the best coffee and food suitable to our palates and we have to say Axil hands down is the best. We even went to three of the different Axil stores total (Melbourne Central, Chadstone & Bourke St). Second place would go to Bakemono Bakers followed by Code Black in 3rd place. What we like is there is no bitter/sour aftertaste after; it provides a sense of clarity and pureness when we drink the coffee.

The food is really amazing. The baked eggs with chorizo have a strong flavour for breakfast but that’s what I like. It is actually very filling. The verde scrambled eggs have a very healthy taste to it and are also good.

Also it would be good if the staff were a bit more aware of finished plates. It’s harder to wash plates the longer you leave it out & it takes up space on the customers tables. Other than that, the staff are excellent.

Can’t wait to come back & hope they open a...

Good food good coffee but poor attitude from the male staff. I must admit the food and coffee are great, no doubt with it, in terms of quality and cleanliness thats why we went back. We went there last Saturday, 2nd July for late lunch around 2:30pm ish, to welcome my friend’s parents to Australia after their long journey from the international airport. It was very busy in the cafe, I can tell from the body language from the male staff member when setting up cutlery and arranging plates on our table (he was quick, loud, and rush) I understand at that point of time, he must be tired during that hour (almost 3pm), i didn't mind because I am from hospitality sector too. But when we went to pay our bills, he told us everything is done and I had to tell him again No we haven’t paid, so he checked and I paid with credit card, and when I asked for a copy of the receipt, he was frustrated & and I thanked him after he printed it out, and he just kept quiet and not look at me. I would recommend the management to give some training to the staff members, about professional customer service especially now, it’s just going to be more and more busy with international students, tourist. We love your coffee, and I will definitely return again but hopefully with better service from...

The best ice latte in Melbourne CBD for me!!!!!!! I have my latte here every time i go to the city 3-4 times a week. They brew coffee in very professional way.. the coffee aroma, the body of coffee the after taste and as well as the taste note of the coffee are spectacular!!!!!!! Give a mouthful vibe drinking their coffee with aroma… so so good♥️
