Bakers Delight Clifton Hill — Restaurant in Melbourne

I go to this bakers delight regularly and all the customer service staff are so lovely!

I went in today 11/11/2023 and there were a couple of new staff working who were wearing trainee badges. One of these trainees served me and he was doing a really good job and was very kind etc however as he was preparing my order, i witnessed the manager (I assumed) speak very loudly and very rudely to the staff in a very degrading way about how he was preparing the bread. The comments were made clearly and audibly, and I assume other staff/customers had witnessed this. It made me feel really uncomfortable and sorry for the trainee (when he was still learning and still doing such a good job).

I understand that mistakes can cost a business money, but there is an appropriate way to speak to someone who is learning and to gently re-direct them to do things in the correct way.

It made me feel incredibly uncomfortable to witness the way this older manager spoke to the trainee. I feel reluctant to continue to support a business where management treats their new staff like this publicly in front of customers.
