Great experience ,dining in Chimes!. We went on a late Saturday night. Started with a cocktail wich was really well made!.. very friendly staff...🍸 Menu... too many good options! Chef himself visited us at table and helped with selection and suggestions. Not sure if somehow he was reading our minds !!!! All the food from Entres to mains arrived in right time and was cooked to perfection! Tandoori Mushrooms, lamb cutlets and chicken tikka as entre were allllll so yummy! Meats were soft, juicy and melted in your mouth! Main we ordered butter chicken, I had them before either too thick, too dry, too watery! But this one was THE BEST BUTTER CHICKEN I ever had. Vibrant colour, juicy chicken and creamy!!!! Don't miss out... We also ordered another lamb dish by suggestion of the Chef himslef which was a new experience, but yummy!!.you could say all were fresh ingredients! And last meal, ICE CREAMS!!!😍 It is obvious the Chef knows his business and stuff. We appreciated the fact that he engaged himself into our dining expereince and took it to the next level! He also invited us to complimentary shots of liquor as we were the last to leave!!!!! So Compliment to the Chef, Garuv, thanks for great Indian dining experience.keep up the good work! Read moreOn the evening of September 1st, a group of our family friends decided to dine at this restaurant. Despite our extensive experience dining at various Indian restaurants in Melbourne over the past 40+ years, our visit to this particular establishment proved to be the most disappointing one we've ever had.
The staff, notably an elderly indian lady who claimed to have been working there for 2 years, demonstrated a severe lack of understanding when it comes to customer service and treating patrons with respect.
Here are a few instances of her unacceptable behavior:
Instead of addressing my mother's simple inquiry about the whereabouts of her Naan, she rudely told her to 'Shut up.' Her tone, choice of words, and volume were consistently disrespectful and impolite, displaying a complete absence of manners. When we brought to her attention the issue of cold roti and naan, her response was not only dismissive but also confrontational, as she raised her voice in anger.
I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant. It is in dire need of a significant overhaul and a substantial improvement in order to meet the standards expected in Australian restaurants and customer service. Our party of 20 individuals unanimously agreed that none of us...
Read moreSo bad that I have to give 5 stars for the worst indian food ever tasted. Stay away, set menu price at restaurant is inflated compared to website price, food is bad, cold and salt laden. I decided to try this place as I've often drove pass and it was a mistake. I've been to many Indian restaurants before in Australia and other countries. For me this was the worse Indian food I have ever tasted. First it took forever for the food to arrive (more than an hour), when it arrived it was served haphazardly in porcelain plates (not those nice brass bowls used by most Indian restaurants). The chicken curry was watery and bland. The lamb curry came with tough chewy pieces of meat in a sickening green paste, horrid! The eggplant dish was full of potatoes hardly any egg plant. They did not serve some of the dishes in the set banquet as stated. This is also the first Indian restaurant I have been to that charged for what others give complimentary - papadum and mango chutney. Worse of all, the food was cold and tasteless. When we asked for another chicken curry as there was not enough for the table, the second serve came with a different colour and tasted like lots of salt had been added to boost the taste of the...
