A welcoming environment with the bright colours and neon fish sign gives a classical modern feel to it. The service is unlike others where it feels overly platonic and bland. Recommendations include the Tom Kha which blends a level of sweetness and sourness fit for an exciting day. The Pad Thai was made very similarly however the flavour is subtly obvious almost as though it dances and tangos with the nuts beans shoots, noodles and sauce. The tofu salad brought a level of innovation second to none with a very simple mixture of satay sauce. A change so obvious yet unknown. The crackers introduced an element in surprise you don’t often find elsewhere. Whether it be takeaway, eating in, family or friends, Burapa Thai has got it all and the locality of it also means you don’t need to drive off to never land to get a local bright vibrant and satisfying eat. Even with a menu change which is very hard and stressful to pull off , Burapa Thai has done something very few and especially Thai Restaurants can do. With the added price to take account of for diners, don’t worry about losing your earnings on one meal. That being said Bravo and well...

This Thai restaurant is honestly the best in Melbourne. Finally, we found a truly authentic Thai eatery that does not “fusionised” their food and we love the really hot and spicy and tangy feel (not watered down to local tastes). The portion size is just right, not excessively bulked up with vegetables. The salad that goes with the fried barramundi is so very good - we can feel the “various bursts of tastes” very clever combination of ingredients, just tastes so good. And the chef had also thoughtfully filleted & cut the barramundi into serving portion size prior to frying (no need for us to “battle” cutting up a whole fried fish on our own). Just so thoughtful, deserve Michelin star chef. We ordered 4 dishes, all was very good and tastes spot on (just one tip, the seafood vermicelli salad, could have been more perfect, if there were a little more seafood - enough for a family of 4). The rice portion is good, not tiny (unlike other Thai restaurants). Customer service was warm, genuine and efficient. Well deserving 5-star. Highly recommend this amazing Thai eatery and we will definitely be...

Absolutely wonderful place to enjoy Thai cuisine without having to worry about the price and quality.

We had a rushy dinner at a random night. Walked in and had a door side table. Night wind came to our table before the menu did. However, when our appetizer arrived, all the coldness and hungry dissolved by a single bite of “Son-in-law’s eggs”, which has a funny name and amazing taste. Fried outer layer covers the tender inside of boiled egg, which makes you think how this dish was made.

Beef curry was creamy and rich in flavor. Might be too greasy for some people but it was designed for pairing with the famous Thai rice (not the Sunrice please, that’s not good rice). We couldn’t finish it so I packed it and took away for the second day at work.

We also ordered a prawn pot and Thai style milk tea. I don’t want to spoil too much on these gorgeous items because if you go and try, you will find these items are fantastic and cannot be found anywhere else, which makes this restaurant impossible for walk-in like me.

Overall, wonderful place located in Balwyn area and a gem...

We wanted something spicy and sour to tantalise our tastebuds. Thai food it is. We went for an early-ish dinner. Walked in, no booking. They accommodated with asking if we could finish dinner by 7pm (we basically had a little over an hour. For 2 adults, I think it’s doable). The friendly staff offered me a basket to put my bag in so it can slide under chair or sit neatly out of the way. We ordered 4 items: Choo Chee soft shell crab, Tom Yum, Larb Gai and jasmine rice. Tom Yum and Larb Gai had spice level adjustments. The food came quickly and boy the tastes were explosive! So yummy. The Choo Chee soft shell crab was a creamy, coconuty sauce over crispy soft shell crab. It was a beautiful combination. The Tom Yum was the right spice level and just sour enough for you to keep going back for more. The Larb Gai was flavourful and the spice level was what we wanted and it was the perfect balance with the rice. The Larb Gai was smoky from the toasted rice and salty from the fish sauce. A good addition. We walked away very satisfied. Definitely going back to try other items.

Visited Burapa for dinner with one of my sons and his partner a few weeks ago. Staffs were very attentive and kept apologizing for the paint fume that came from next door renovation. We didn't mind as that's out of their control. We ordered Fried Shrimp Toast, Gui-Chai Tod (Crispy Thai Fried Chive Cakes), Pad Se-Ew with Beef, Green Curry with Tofu & Veg and Stir Fried Soft Shell Crab with Yellow Curry Powder. Food was delicious. A bit disappointed with the Chive cakes as it's not that crispy, it's more like chewy but still tasted ok. My favourite is the Green Curry and I wish they put a bit more veg in it. Another favourite was the soft shell crab. I wish they have more veg dishes such as Stir Fried Water Spinich etc. There are more dishes on the menu that I would love to try next time. Plenty of parking spots outside and opposite the restaurant but sometimes it can be difficult to find a spot too. I am looking forward to another visit.
