We celebrated my sister birthday with 5 close friends on 18th August, Sunday at 6:30pm in BBQ-K Springvale. We brought the birthday cake to the restaurant. The waiter told us the dining rules before took us to the table. He mentioned about Sunday surcharge. If we pay by cash is 5% surcharge and pay by card is 10% surcharge. I told the waiter that we will pay cash for the food tonight. And he told us we only have 90 minutes dining time. Any left over food and we will get charge $10 per person. He said our dining time started at 6:35pm which shown on their dining docket. As soon as we walked in and we all rush to get the food. They only supply 1 BBQ grill plate for 7 people to cook the food. It XLwas too small to cook the food for 7 adults. We have to rush to cook and also rush to eat the food. We didn't have much time to chat while dining. We love to drink water and they don't provide water jug/water bottle. The water cup is too small and we have to walk out to fill up the water many times. When the dining time is up at 8pm and the waiter brought up the bills and asked us to pay. No one realised that total charges of bill was already included 10% surchage in it. The bill was $403.70 and we paid $405 by cash. The correct charges should be $50 x 7 people is $350 + 2 x beers = $367
5% cash surcharge is $18.35 So Total bill should be $385.35
But $403.70 was stated on the bill (included 10% card surcharge)
Therefore we paid $405 by cash
When my friend made the payment at the counter and they didn't mention to my friend that since we pay by cash and the correct charges should be $385.35.
They are very cunning and not honest at all. 😖 They could have told my friend that we have overpaid them but they took it silently.
I only realised this incident when I got home at 11pm on that night.
I will never visit this restaurant anymore.
Thank...
Read moreHad a lunch buffet 6 weeks ago. Felt good with their service and food quality. I recommended it to our friends. We 5 people decided to go there for the lunch buffet today, arrived there on 2:15pm. As I knew the buffet without bbq time limited to 1 hour only, we thought should be enough time for us as we all eat not much. I dropped my friends there then I drove the car to car park. When I joined them on 2:20pm, I didn't know the staff turned on the bbq cooking stove. As 3 of them didn't know the differences between bbq and cooked food only. My friend just took a meat ball, a cheese corn and some octopus. Then the food area closed as they close the food area on 2:30pm. We totally understood and respect it. But when I went to the counter to pay on 3pm, a young male told me that we had to pay full price for 5 of us. I explained to him that we started the lunch on 2:15pm, we knew we only had 45 minutes time to finish as they closed on 3pm. Also they didn't provide the bbq meats for us as they closed everything on 2:30pm. That young guy showed me a plate that the $23 option only available on weekdays. As I knew it wasn't true then I found another plate showed $23 was available everyday. Then that person insisted that we used the bbq cooking plate even we had nothing to cook and didn't use 90 minutes. In the end they charged us one at full price of $45, other 4 people with $23. Yes, I accept this solution as one person did took some items from the bbq area before 2:30. But that staff gave us dirty look like we took advantages on them. I knew the owner is a very nice and honest person. I just felt so disappointed that young guy tried to mislead us with no explanation of the $23 and $45. Also they knew that we didn't have enough time and food options when we started the meal. Please keep away unless you asked them to explain everything before...
Read more** This review is written with the comparison of similar korean bbq buffets of similar value and location as I believe they should be held to those standards.
The experience at BBQ K Springvale was interesting, nothing screams super good or super bad. I went in for their lunch buffet and bbq, and immediately it was awkward, with no one in line we walked in, made eye contact with at least 3 staff members before we were finally greeted and served. The selection and quality of meat is definitely not on the standard of other kbbq buffets at 45$ around the same area, it wasn’t terrible but nothing makes you want to scream “oh my god zaddy”, like some meats at other buffets. There was continuous, awkward interactions with staff. It felt like they were told to have exceptional customer service, without being trained. Which ends up feeling like an over the top act where they are constantly coming to you, bending down to check the flame, taking your plates, it felt like they couldn’t leave us alone like at other places, like they might as well come sit down and eat with us. The cleaning of the hot plate is an extremely inefficient, ineffective, awkward, time consuming task for them. Had a lady ask us to clean it, they set aside the meat, pour some sort of liquid onto the hot plate, then scrape it, whilst we are just sitting there awkwardly and for them to just scrape half the hot plate, why not just swap the hot plate out??? Also expect to cook your food super slow. They are constantly coming to check if your heat is low, if higher than anything over low, they will change it. Their smoke sucker sucks, and not sucking smoke. As i go to pay, expect to stand there awkwardly as the staff member is cutting lemons. Honestly feels like the owners are incompetent and don’t know how to...
