🐔 Spring rolls 🍜 Bun Rieu: Vietnamese tomato noodle soup with crab and the lot 🍛 Com do ga chien gion: Crispy chicken on red rice This is a cosy restaurant tucked away inside Springvale Central that I would have easily walked past, if not for the existing reviews. It is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in every way, including the decor, service and the food. The spring rolls themselves were crunchy and when eaten together with the lettuce and mint and dipped in fish sauce, it had the crunchy, freshness, sour, salty and sweet flavours singing in your mouth. I have mixed thoughts about the Bun Rieu. The soup base was pungent and full of flavour and 'the lot' was a pleasant surprise. There was pork blood, pork trotters (which is always a highlight) as well as other goodies. The soup was served with crab meat that was finely shredded(?) and it tasted grainy (which wasn't a pleasant texture). Also, the noodles were thinner than I would like and I think it would have been better with drop noodles. Please keep in mind that I'm not Vietnamese and sorry if I have offended anyone. With the crispy chicken on red rice, the dish was exactly as expected. The chicken had a thin crispy skin and the rice had the classic tomato flavour. My friend wished there was a little bit more chicken though. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back again to try their other dishes. There were so many to choose from and not enough tummy space to fit it all in!

First few days out of lockdown, freedom!!! We headed to the closest Decathlon for a bit of Xmas shopping. Mrs took ages to choose, I was famished, waiting, waiting...😂 while waiting and hungry, I found this gem on g-map, this place already have stellar reviews, plus, it's only a short drive from where we were. Finally Mrs was done, we got out of there quick smart and got to Bac 8 within 15 mins. A little tricky to find, it's a small place on the left once you enter the Springvale Central entrance (as pictured). We ordered their Vietnam Noodle Soup, Mekong Seafood Vermicelli Soup, and a small portion of their fried squid . A short wait, out came the dishes. Both noodle soups are absolutely massive!!! And it's tasty as, what value!! There's quite an extensive menu for a little shop like this. Loads of people were there buying takeaway also when we were eating inside (there are about 8 small tables for inside dining), and I can hear many of the punters spoke to the shopkeepers in Vietnamese, so I'm guessing their food is quite authentic even for the locals with Vietnamese background. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in the area again for some chow. Thanks heaps Bac 8 for a delicious quick lunch!! 😁👍

It's no fine dining if that's what you're looking for. However, it is a cosy local asian style atmosphere. I was attracted by the choices of dishes (heaps to choose from) for the mixed dish rice. I chose Mixed Rice with 3 Dishes ($13.00 + $1.00) a) Crispy Squid b) Sweet Sour Pork c) Lemongrass Chicken (SPECIAL) All 3 dishes tasted pretty good. Not over the top, an easy 3.7 / 5.0 •Crispy Squid texture is tough and cold. •Sweet Sour Pork was hard and there were 2 toned colour, maybe it's mixed with new batch and old batch. •Lemongrass Chicken is really a special dish, favourite among all 3. Was really happy after some observation. It took me quite some time to choose my dish as I was spoilt for choices. Maybe the order taker wasn't to happy about it. Photos attached. My dishes was served lesser than other customers (my observations in my dine in time). And I requested for a soup, he did inform its $1.00. Curious but tried, it's just clear chicken soup and few strands of spring Onions (no meat). Verdict: May visit again but never be a special trip for the food. Disclaimer: Photos have my dishes and other customers dishes.

I really wanted to give this place a 5 star review like others.. But results were clearly sub par.

I honestly believe the uber driver put more effort getting this order to my door wuthout it breaking than the business here put in regarding my order. Didnt get any chili oil, lemon nor utensils with the order, but i can gloss over that if the main order is correct...Lucky ive been stocking free utensils just for this very occasion.

Orederd 4 boxes for 25 via uber eats.. Didnt get what i orderd.

Instead of sweet n sour pork i got squid.

Instead of stir fried vegetables i got boiled swimming in liquids. Yuck.

Bamboo soup and pork meatballs was ordered. The serving was good got about 12 meatballs The taste was completely lacking which was a right shame. But it was delivered.

The beef stew however was great no complaints. Nice pieces great soup. beef is 5/5

Seems if you want to get the best deal dont order sweet n sour pork.. Even just after 3pm when the deal becomes avaliable.. you will not get it

Also they give the containers in a single plastic bag thats way too small. Theyre not giving you it in proper bags that you pay for.

I would say you wont get what you ordered from here. But if you eat it regardless of tastenor preparation it is still about $25 worth of food but its not for me.

So overall i only got half the order i paid for from here. You decide if you like those russian roulette odds. uber also wont give any refund amount from here due to the boosted review scores. So this place via uber eats is a great way to waste money and be disappointed.

Im lucky they didnt reuse the plastic containers. Seems like the type of place will do anything to save a buck. Make of that...

I went there yesterday with my wife to have lunch, I dont wanna mention about the food in this comment, I would like to say about the customer service. The lady (I heard other staffs call her name is Hồng) works there who looks like more than 50 years old but keep calling my wife is sister, me and my wife both are 30+ year olds. We actually dont mind that cause I thought maybe that s the politely way to communicate by vietnamese culture. However, until she asked my wife that Am I her son? My wife replied "No, he is my husband" but she feels very bad after. Basically, it s very bad to ask lady about her age or making her feel like she is older than her real age, especially in customer service. Me and my wife look about same age but I dont know why she asked my wife such a stupid question like this. I hope if the owner can see this comment, he or she please ask her to improve customer service skill if she still want to work in hospitility, they need the customers' support to earn money, making customer happy with the food and services, not making customer dont wanna come back again or using words to dishonor customers. My wife's mood is very down after that time and I decided to write a review on here cause sometimes the owner doenst know what staffs did or said to the customers while the owner is not at the...
