EDIT: Thanks for replying, but your response misses the point. My issue wasn’t just that the chicken was pre-cooked—it was that it was microwaved, which you didn’t address at all. At a chicken shop, that’s unacceptable.

As for the portion size, I included photos in my review for reference, so don’t call me a liar. I was served half a breast, and being told “that’s never happened in 20 years” doesn’t change what I was given.

I also asked to speak to a manager at the time and was told by your staff they were on the phone, so don’t suggest I didn’t try to resolve it then and there.

And finally, dismissing public reviews as “negative remarks” instead of acknowledging repeated poor service is just avoiding accountability. Customers have a right to share honest experiences, especially when private complaints lead nowhere.

If I Wanted Microwave Chicken, I’d Stay Home.

Every time I visit this chicken shop, there’s always an issue. On my most recent trip, I asked for a chicken roll. Which, in my understanding, should be made fresh, especially at a chicken shop. Instead, the worker pulled out some cold chicken from the fridge, placed it in a plastic container, and microwaved it. I told them I didn’t want microwaved chicken from a chicken shop.

So I changed my order and asked for a quarter chicken. Again, based on common sense and experience, that usually means a whole breast or a thigh and drumstick. What I got was half a breast. Barely worth calling a portion. Not sure if the owner is cutting corners or forcing staff to ration meat, but either way, customers aren’t getting what they pay for.

Really gone down hill Months ago I called and asked to pick up a chicken at 7:40pm. The kid on the phone said yep that’s fine just don’t come any later as we shut at 8pm. Doesn’t take my name down, but I assume it’s fine because maybe it was just a slow night. I get there at 7:35 ish and they completely closed for the night. Today I went for some chips and gravy on top, the guy serving me seemed off like he was really tired. He said specifically when giving me the chips it had gravy on it. I get home open it up and its just plain chips. I drive back and I ask to be upgraded to a medium and have the gravy on top. He said yes then just put gravy on the original. I said no can I please be upgraded to a medium as I just had to drive home and back and he outright refused. Hate giving local businesses bad reviews but this was 2nd bad experience. Sold out of almost everything by 6.30 on a Friday. No chickens cooking despite coals still alight.

And this happened each time I’ve been there.

Rather than making to demand - they appear to make what they can be bothered making and then shut early.

Chicken dry. Salad that they had left was about 2 fork fulls in the pack I ordered. Chips were very good. Chicken skin was at least a nice flavour 👍

Oh well. We tried to support local. No 3rd chance here.
