Bites on Bonwick — Restaurant in Melbourne

The food is good, but the menu is a bit dated. No vegan options. They make the coffee way too hot, hotter than 70 degrees. I asked just to add some milk and she remade it which was nice except that it came back really hot again. She said to ask for it under 70 degrees next time, but I think 70 = extra hot. 60-65 is regular temp. I think most people want it hot but drinkable, and if they want extra hot they’ll say? I asked the other barrister to add some milk, and in my haste to just leave because I felt bad about asking for another adjustment to the coffee I didn’t specify dairy milk so I had to throw it out when I got home.

Appears to be really social and connected with locals who’ve been in Fawkner a long time, which is really good for them. However if you’re after a quiet spot for a coffee and to read or just a quiet moment to yourself it might not be a place for you. Bites on Bonwick Review

I recently visited Bites on Bonwick after a gym session, and it’s a great spot to grab a bite with mates after a long workout. The overall experience was enjoyable, with a couple of small things to note.

My friend ordered the eggs Benedict and absolutely loved it. He mentioned the hollandaise sauce was perfectly balanced—not overly sweet, which can sometimes overpower the dish. It complemented the eggs and other elements beautifully.

I went with the scrambled eggs on toast, as I was in a bit of a rush. The food was tasty, but I found myself wishing it had come out just a little quicker.

That said, the cafe has a nice vibe and is conveniently located, making it an easy choice for a casual post-workout meal.

I can’t say enough about this place, absolutely top tier!! Has dinner here with my family and from the second we walked in we were greeted with friendly smiles and were taken straight to our seats. The girl that served us was so bubbly and lovely, even recommended items for us when we were having trouble deciding… the things she recommended (as well as everything else) was DELICIOUS!
