🍊 Madeline’s ☕️ Opera Cake 🗽 New York Baked Cheesecake 🥖 Caprese Baguette 🍦 Saint Honore
Tucked away in the backstreets of Abbotsford, an old car garage has been stunningly transformed into Parisian inspired JC Patisserie and Boulangerie. Owner and Melbourne local Jonathan Camillieri (JC) studied for years abroad at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Paris as well as working at bakeries across France and Italy. 🇫🇷
We tried a variety of their sweets, the Saint Honore was light, fresh, and a simple delight - crème pâtisserie, puff pastry, mascarpone cream and a little Choux. A selection of Madeline’s go perfectly with a hot beverage, the Orange and Lemon being my top pic of the 3 flavours on offer. 🍋
My favourite would have to be the New York Baked Cheesecake. Wow. The creamiest, most perfect version I have tasted to date. I need this in 10x size! A close runner up was the Opera Cake, with layers of sponge, coffee buttercream and chocolate ganache.
Not only do they do pastries and cakes, they also offer a selection of baguette sandwiches. The Caprese although simple, still managed to wow me, perfectly crunchy bread and lots of flavour. The perfect stop for a quick lunch and a...
Read moreFood: Great pastry selections. Tried their Ube Cube, it has a hint of the ube flavor, was hoping for it to be a but more ube flavour. The almond croissant was a hit for me. The Crookie for me is also a win. Flat white was good and matcha as well but if your after for the more earthy matcha this is not for you. Place : Small area for me, a couple of tables inside and bar like seating outside. The place give a pub/ boujie bar like feels served in breakfast. Crew: amazing staff, all smiles. Was my first time and I asked for suggestions and they did not disappoint. Overall: id love to come back and try other pastries and they have monthly specials which is a great idea to make people to comeback. Discovered about this place via tiktok. Price is not too steep imho. 4.5/5 for me as I feel like they need to more sit down tables, the u be cube is a miss for me(I grew up with ube so I...
Read moreStopped in here after dropping one of my teens off at a local events - I figured that at 10am on a Saturday I deserved a little treat! The pastries were DELICIOUS and it was really nice to feel like I was at a truly 'local' spot. Staff were wonderful, and with so few seats, had the time to treat customers with a lot of genuine warmth. It's very basic - very much a bakery that also has a storefront, but with the addition of some really good coffee, and what looked to be a very popular french hot chocolate, it's elevated to the perfect spot to sit and have a pastry and read a book, and have a main character moment. That said, it was pretty cold - this isn't the place to come for a lingering brunch with friends, as the space is very small and just a few tables of two, not much more.
But if you're looking for a little slice of quiet, with good coffee and great pastries,...
