If I could give ZERO stars I would. Ever since management changed this place is the absolute WORST place to eat I’ve ever been. At no fault to the staff, features HORRIFYING service requiring a group of 20+ people to all order using a QR code which has an order limit nor takes online payment. Outside drinks are confiscated. We were forced to pay for a bill $500+ by splitting it amongst our whole group despite being seated on multiple tables. An absolute nightmare to pay which is no longer worth the fried chicken. I’ll source my Korean fried chicken elsewhere where customers are better appreciated and not treated like a joke.
In reply to the below: I find that hard to believe given we were on excellent terms with the day-to-day branch manager of this particular store and visited nearly every week even between lockdowns. He always allowed us to pay split bill. Ever since he resigned and started working at Ichi Katsu next door, this place has gone severely downhill and is a place we will no longer frequent as often if ever. If you have staff shortages then I don’t see why you use eftpos machines at all rather than allowing online payment which would considerably reduce the number of staff required. Not only that, but the terrible ordering system meant staff botched our orders multiple times and many of us failed to receive what we paid for as staff claimed it was already served. Perhaps you may not have considered that the best customer service is REAL human service. I also fail to see the relevance of inflation in relation to drinking bubble tea with our meals. Those who choose to order drinks from bon do so and those who want bubble tea will drink bubble tea regardless of whether you allow us to or not. Confiscating our drinks will not make us want to buy your drinks any more, in fact it does the opposite by driving away customers. If this is trying your best, I’d hate to see what...
Read moreCustomer of 7 years and they have lost me today; picked up an order only to find out the chicken they have used is a re fried old chicken which was just rubbery and caused extreme discomfort after eating - called to complaint and was told it’s unfortunate I got the bad batch and they can’t do anything about it (told by the supervisor) and hung up. Expecting a call back from the manager Austin but no hope that he will.
Update - what a nasty response back from the owner of the place when he did not have the respect to call and speak to customer( despite a promise)- this shows how much you value your customers and blatantly try to cover yourself in front of future customers . Did your staff tell you that I got you after several tries because your lines were busy, are you trying to imply that being able to speak to you later means customer have to loose the money. I didn’t treaten your staff for declining to collect, I have told your staff the food is here as is and if they want to see they can come and collect it themselves as I came 40 minutes to eat from your place and looks like you chose to simple argue instead of digging deep.
Don’t the rationale behind your choice to bulldoze customer instead of picking the phone and talking to them, btw your supervisor said he doesn’t care that the chicken was bad and that’s when I lost the cool and said I have got the sample and will share it to council so they investigate your product and kitchen standards; you could have simply got the product that was substandard and replaced it knowing there was a mistake instead you choose to fighting with customer as an alternate and it will be good the reviewers to understand what kind of experience...
Read moreBon Chicken & Beer is Korean restaurant known for their fried chicken and other dishes. The pricing of the food are reasonable for the portion size. The best deal is their lunch special (13.9 Aud). The deal beats the other restaurants around the area with portion size and price. Additionally, if you pay by cash, your meal will be discounted rather than paying on card. The chicken wings and boneless is the restaurant specialty. It is always crispy and well cooked. I wish they would provide more sauce with the chicken than giving just 1 small tub especially if you are sharing with someone. The restaurant ambiences is quite nice definitely catering to the younger crowd. During weekends nights can get quite pack. Weekdays and weekend afternoons tend to be less crowd. I think their bathrooms can be lot more cleaner. The staff are quite friendly and well versed with the menu. They may get overwhelmed went there's huge crowds. The accommodations of the digital menu and ordering has enhance the dining experience. The downside is the lack of parking in this area. Overall, Bon Chicken & Beer is decent restaurant with good quality fried chicken and other Korean foods for...
