YOMG Glen Waverley have been our main go-to restaurant for my friend/godfather Peter and I these last few whenever we seek a gourmet hamburger...and including our latest visit to it so many hours earlier today on 18/09/2024, we are extremely happy with both the food and service we received from them during each and every single one of our visits there including our latest visit there several hours ago this morning on 18/09/2024. I'm so sorry to all past and present YOMG Glen Waverley staff and Peter himself for how extremely long overdue this Google review is, and I don't have any excuses whatsoever.
YOMG Glen Waverley is a top notch gourmet burger restaurant as well as a top notch frozen yoghurt parlour. Every visit either I or both Peter and I made there whether it's dine in or takeaway has been with too notch food and service. The different burgers we had were so delicious and beautifully prepared, as are the sides and also pizza loaded fries! And the frozen yoghurt was both tasty and refreshing.
And during our aforementioned latest visit on 18/09/2024, we took advantage of the 2 for 1 Cheesy Burgers offer, I ordered 4 of them, 2 Peter and I had to eat via dine in and the other 2 Peter did takeaway to bring home to his family. Service as always was perfectly nice and friendly, even when I almost mistakenly took the wrong takes order (my fault of course) and the staff went above and beyond to the point when I asked for all 4 Cheesy Burger to be cut in half, the 2 Cheesy Burgers that Peter and I had via dine in where present to us in 4 beautifully cut halves each so nicely wrapped and placed in 4 open boxes atop an elegant metal tray.
And the Cheesy Burgers were fantastic! The patties were beautiful grilled with a beefy umami flavour complimented perfectly with the cheese, picked and ketchup in-between soft seeded buns! Definitely worth the normal $11.90 price for one Cheesy Burger so to be able to get 4 of them for $23.80, it's just under $6 per burgers, when cheaper that a Big Mac!
I can see why YOMG Glen Waverley is so popular with everyone, thank you so much again to its staff past and present for all the truly outstanding food and truly outstanding service both earlier today on 18/09/2024 and all the other times we visited these last few years, both Peter and I are always...
Read moreVisited 20 October We came in for dinner tonight and honestly, I left really disappointed and a bit shocked. My son ordered a kids’ beef burger, and about a third of the way through, I noticed the patty was red and raw in the middle. Serving undercooked meat to a child is just not okay. It’s unsafe and shows a real lack of care in the kitchen.
When I took it up with staff, they gave a really quick “sorry” and said they’d make it again. But instead of replacing the whole meal, they just took the burger and left the chips behind, so by the time the new burger came out, the chips were stone cold. When they dropped the replacement burger on the table, there wasn’t a word of apology or any sign they actually cared that a kid had just been served raw meat.
To top it off, the place was almost empty, yet customers still had to get up and collect food with a buzzer while the staff stood around chatting. It really summed up the attitude, no attention to what’s happening and no pride in their service.
They’d also run out of sweet potato fries, which isn’t a huge deal on its own, but it just added to the whole sloppy feel of the visit.
Food safety should be the absolute basic standard for any café or restaurant. I’ve since seen other reviews mentioning raw or undercooked food here, so it clearly isn’t a one-off. I’ll be reporting this, because serving raw beef, especially to a child, is dangerous and...
Read moreThis used to be my favourite burger place but the service has really dropped. I recently ordered online and they said pick up at 2pm. When I went in to collect at 1.55 I could see my order was already made and left in a bag to get cold. They make you wait in the normal ordering line to pick up online orders so another ten minutes later and my food is still sitting there. It would make a lot more sense to pick up your order from the order collection counter where there is no line. The whole point of ordering online is to save time, which they don't seem to understand. Then when I get to the front of the line they still hadn't made my shake so I had to wait another 10 mins because the girl taking orders had to make it even though there were other staff milling around. By the time I got my food it was cold and the buns were all soggy. Then to make matters worse they have changed the size of their large fries (made them smaller) but kept them at the same extortionate price. Very disappointed and unfortunately won't be going back to a place I lover and used to go to all the time. Very unintelligent...
