Brumby's Sorrento — Restaurant in Melbourne

Something has happened to Brumby’s in Sorrento in the past year. It used to be great, even all the way through covid. Now there are multiple issues;

1. there is rarely bread on the shelves when the store opens (the attached photo was the sorry sight of on of the display cabinets, over 30 mins after opening time)
2. the staff have changed over, with the current staff seeming to have a lack of experience and skills in customer service
3. the range has become limited; at times, the store is covered in loaves pre-sliced, with little else to choose from My assumption for this change is that it is not lucrative for Brumby’s, so there is little investment/on its way to being closed. This review is about the male worker with fake nails on. Not long ago I came with my dad, and he was extremely weird towards me. Wouldn’t stop looking at me. I felt very uncomfortable. A couple weeks after I was with my friends and I walked past this bakery and the same creepy staff member saw me from the back of the bakery, came out and he specifically came up to me to ask me where I was going, after ignoring him he stood out the front of the bakery watching me as I walked off. Made me feel really uncomfortable and creeped out, you’ve lost my business as I will not be coming back. If something like this happened again at this bakery I would be informing the police....

I have just arrived home from the most terrible experience at your Brumby's store! I was waiting at the store to be served, in the interim, I was speaking to my sister on the phone about what bread to buy. The rude sales assistant proceeded to serve another customer before me so then I made her aware that I was there before the other person. She gave me a sickly sweet smile and replied, ‘I don’t serve people who are on their phone!’. I was absolutely gobsmacked, she was ever so rude that I left the store without my change.
