I had been in the neighborhood for several days, but never went out early enough to have brunch This was gonna be my first one in Hawthorn, and I see to first have a look online to see what my options were Cafe Gomez looked like it may be the best to me, from the pictures I would see, the reviews, and the point Mai would make to answer them, always in a personalized way And I can now say I am so glad I came I first met the staff, which was well friendly already And when I got to talk to Mai, whom was greeting many guests by their first name, I was convinced I was at the right place Greeting them by their first names meant that they were returning guests, hence happy customers, and that she cared about them, to have asked them for their names at some point, and remember them Then the place by itself, it has lots of seats inside, some even having meetings there. While there are several seats outside, which is where I decided to sit, with nice sunshine (but also a paraeol/sunshade if needed) and trees While sitting there I saw 2 teachers (or guides, not sure) passing with students, and I could hear both of them pointing at the cafe and telling the students it was a good place. Again, that tells a lot. And the last but not the least, the food and drinks: They have a good range of items, big enough to have choice, while not overwhelming For drinks, there's coffee, tea, milkshakes, smoothies For food, they have toasties, rolls, wraps, mufins, brownies... I personally went for Chicken avocado focaccia "Vitamin C Boost", with banana, mango, blueberry and almond milk (almond milk could be replaced by another tupe if needed I believe) Morning glory muesli bar Great value for money, friendly atmosphere, with a personal touch, seem to be key words and values here Loved my food, loved the outdoor seats, loved the staff attitude Highly...

Love this cafe in the centre of campus. Surprisingly comfy and chill to sit down despite the constant stream of customers getting T/A coffee. Coffee is good and service is brilliant.

Been going here for several years and somehow the staff remember my name and my regular coffee order from my second ever visit. They...

The best cafe in Hawthorn. Excellent and well priced ham, cheese and tomato sandwiches. The chicken and avocado wraps are also very good and at very good student prices. Coffee is excellent and Mai keeps the price low to help students. The banana cabana...
