Kebabji, a fascinating establishment that manages to excel in both customer service and value for money, yet simultaneously commits an environmental and hygiene blunder of such proportions that it leaves me questioning whether they are running a restaurant or an open-air aviary for pigeons.
Let us begin with the commendable aspects, as I am nothing if not fair. The pricing is moderate, which in todayās economy is practically a miracle. The HSP and Zaatar are generously portioned and remarkably filling for the price, making them an excellent choice for those who wish to enjoy a satisfying meal without being financially obliterated. And then, there is the service, which I must acknowledge as a beacon of customer hospitality. The staff members do not simply take orders and process transactions; they engage in acts of small yet meaningful kindness, such as filling my water bottle upon request. A simple gesture, yet one that speaks volumes about their attentiveness and willingness to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
And now, let us discuss the unforgivable flaw against hygiene that is their permanently open door policy.
One must ask, why? Why, in the name of all that is sanitary and logical, does this establishment insist on keeping the door wide open as if they are awaiting an esteemed delegation of pigeons to waltz in and partake in the dining experience? Is there a secret promotional campaign that offers "free entry for all feathered patrons"? Are we to expect that, at any moment, one of these uninvited avian guests will receive a loyalty card for their continued patronage?
Let me be unequivocally clear, this is not hygienic. The sheer audacity of allowing pigeons to roam freely inside a place where food is prepared is astounding. These are not dignified, well-mannered birds that wait in line and peruse the menu before making a selection. No, these are feral, disease-carrying, street-dwelling pigeons, known for their complete disregard for personal boundaries, hygiene, and indoor etiquette. And yet, they are granted unrestricted access to the restaurant as if they are paying customers.
Beyond the birds, the open door also invites a variety of other unwanted elements, such as dust, debris, and the occasional insect looking for its next meal. It is almost as if this restaurant is challenging the very concept of controlled indoor environments. One might assume that, in the grand hierarchy of responsibilities, ensuring a sanitary and uncontaminated food preparation area would rank rather high. Yet, here we are, watching pigeons strut around as if they are auditioning for a cooking show.
Here is a radical idea, why not allow the customers to open the door themselves when they enter? Humans have evolved motor skills for a reason. The simple action of grasping a door handle and pulling it open is well within the cognitive capabilities of the average diner. If the concern is air circulation, there are modern inventions known as ventilation systems that can address this issue without resorting to an open-door, all-access policy for birds and airborne contaminants.
In summary, Kebabji is an establishment that excels in affordability and customer service, yet also functions as an unregulated aviary with an open-door policy that defies logic and basic hygiene standards. A slight course correction, namely, closing the door and reclaiming control over what enters the restaurant would elevate this place from "good but questionable" to...
Ā Ā Ā Read morerecently visited Kebabji, and let me say, it lives up to the name. Right from the first bite, I was met with tender, juicy meat seasoned to perfection. Each Portion was grilled with just the right amount of char on the outside, giving it a smoky flavor while keeping the inside incredibly tender.
One of the highlights was the range of options they offer: lamb, chicken, beef, and even some vegetarian choices. The lamb hsp was my personal favorite, boasting a rich, savory taste complemented by a blend of spices that were just right ā not overpowering, but noticeable and delicious.
The sides and sauces are worth mentioning, too. The garlic and tahini sauces were the perfect addition, providing a creamy, tangy kick that balanced the richness of the meat. Their fresh-baked pita was soft and warm, ideal for scooping up every last bite.
The atmosphere was casual and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. Staff members were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall experience.
For anyone looking for authentic, high-quality hsp, Kebabjis hsp is a must-try. Itās great for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends, and Iāll definitely be returning to try more of their menu. Highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointed from my most recent visit - paid $30 for a Jumbo / XL size, and the (solo) young bloke filled a Large container $25 instead. When confronted, he said ātheir box sizes have changedā - even though there were many Jumbo / XL boxes stacked nearby. I suspect this is due to him not putting enough chips/french fries in the fryer, and had to compensate with a smaller container.
Wasnāt expecting this as previous visits have been exemplary (usually older gentlemen alongside young employees).
Keep in mind, weāve been here 10+ times before and have always bought the Jumbo / XL and received what we paid for; not today.
Out of principle, I suggest you avoid Kebabji unless you want to run the risk of being scammed (never thought Iād say this) :( I wonāt be going back and will recommend friends and family...
