Read moreJust having QR codes isn’t enough when you ignore customers standing at your counter trying to order food. You saw me at the counter and then decided to ignore me - you walked away and left me there like an idiot. I had to walk around to your kitchen to ask questions. Horrible.
You also have an active offer listed on the Entertainment App which your staff decided was no longer valid. How about you take the time to remove the offer, so customers don’t come to your store on the promise of something removed.
Bland environment and a total lack of care. I would recommend spending your money somewhere else.
Update:
The business has responded and I’d like to address something.
“After your inquiry we decided to honour the offer”
That’s a complete fabrication, because after I enquired with your staff member, he immediately declined and there didn’t appear to be any discussion occurring or an explanation of what you’ve just described. He went straight back to preparing food. You’ve just added this to cover your own reputation. The staff didn’t care about my inquiry.
The entertainment app issue is fine, maybe explain that to customers in person then? Instead of explaining it to me on this Google review, which I wouldn’t have left if you had just offered me a conversation and had even just served me waiting at your counter.
Overall - you can’t fix all these problems after the fact. I was ready to pay for whatever items you had on the menu, but you didn’t even...
Read moreResistance Bar has always held a nostalgic place for me. Back in the Glenferrie Station days, it was easily one of my top 5 Melbourne burgers. I still remember smashing the Hot Chick with an added beef patty — it was insane value back then, and one of my favourites of the burger era.
Fast forward to now, I finally revisited after their move. Same owners (great bloke, very friendly), but obviously things have changed a bit with pricing and menu. I ordered the Supremo de Resistance ($23.5–25): 150g dry-aged beef, double cheddar, bacon, caramelised onion, lettuce, tomato, red onion, grilled pineapple, dark sauce, and kewpie mayo.
It’s definitely unique, but for me, it leaned way too sweet with so many toppings and sauces masking the natural beef flavour. It’s still a good burger, but at that price point, I personally wanted to taste more of the patty. The Loaded Fries ($17) were really tasty, crispy, and well-seasoned, but the portion could be bigger for the price. That said, as a side to the burger, it worked out nicely. The Tenders ($16–18) were excellent — crispy, coated perfectly, and gave me flashbacks to how good the Hot Chick was back in the day.
Overall, my choice of the Supremo probably wasn’t the best reflection of their strengths, so I’ll definitely be coming back for the Hot Chick again. The quality is still there, the service is still great, and it’s awesome to see them keeping the legacy alive. Value wise for me for taste could have...
