Very overated. Overpriced. Very thin cut steaks. 3 out of 7 of our steaks were overcooked. We sent the worst offender back for a re-cook. Ordered a rare $150 wagyu scotch, received a med-well. The other two- ordered a blue $150 wagyu scotch, received a medium rare. Ate it. Ordered a rare menu scotch, received a medium rare. Ate it. I ordered a $74 wagyu rump 7+ 200gm medium rare & it came out thick, perfectly cooked & delicious. My lady ordered the special board $150 wagyu scotch 8-9+ 200gm medium rare & it came out thin cut, but perfectly cooked & delicious- though my rump was much better. The starter platter of cevaps was absolutely the star. Juicy & delicious full of flavour, perfectly seasoned. The other platter of duck sausage & pork sausage were also very tasty but nothing amazing, even a little too salty. Sides of a cos leaf salad, a salad of EVOO s&p seasoned savoy cabbage, a couple of fry baskets of fries, very crispy & delicious, but, not seasoned? The sauce option for steaks are 4 pots of condiments - fresh horseradish, Dijon mustard, Hot English mustard & seeded mustard. That's pretty average for this price. Dessert two of us shared, we ordered the Tiramisu - extremely average. Lots of problems with that Tiramisu. Service was adequate but certainly nothing special. Mistakes were made, communication was confusing, we had to ask about the obvious. But it was friendly & genuine. Wine menu is a confused mess. Has a massive quantity, but the layout is hard to make quick sense of, & should be a quarter the size or smaller with gems in each price bracket. Tasting notes for the international language varieties. But nope, it's a massive convoluted mess that takes far too long to navigate with basically a few very average wines in there that I spotted at massive mark ups. It was a very nice night because we were with great company with a sense of humor. But I won't be back. (Context - ex chef of...

Bread came out stone cold accompanied by frozen butter.
Cevapi where very average lacking flavour and were served with masterfoods chilli sauce, for a somewhat high end restaurent you would think they would make their own.
Pork sauce were fine but nothing special.
Our table ordered 500g porter house steak that came out completly raw inside yet burnt and covered in soot on the outside (not sure how you manage to do that). We sent the steaks back but were rudely questioned by the staff asking how we ordered the steak adding in their personal opinion that this is how they like their steak, to cover up the complete embarrasment to call a steak. The staff begrudingly came back with our steaks after cooking them longer with a very rude attitude being a complete dampener on the night making the night very awkard going forward. The steak taste revolting covered in soot and was only edible after having salad inbetween each bit to mask the burnt steak. Not to mention the steak being littered with sinew making it very chewy and unpleasent. (For a $110 steak you would expect a decent quality cut of meat but you would be mistaken)
We asked the staff numerous times to stop bringing us bottles of water and to bring tap, to be expected 4 bottles of water on the bill $50 later...
I have been to this restaurent numerous times and am fed up with the arrogance of the staff and inconsistance of the steak, 9/10 times having to send it back either being over cooked or raw inside.
This restaurent has a cult following with locals that know no better and couldn't part the differance from a good cut to bad. DO NO BE FOOLED by reccomendations as i will never return and wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
$800 down the drain.
Only positive is the wine list or if you like poorly cooked steak...
Read moreWent there tonight for dinner after a few years of not going. The service and food used to be amazing but unfortunately not anymore. We arrived early for our booking and had to stand outside the restaurant until they opened. Once seated the staff were lovely but not knowledgeable. When we asked questions about the wine list, the server was not able to answer any and their knowledge seemed limited. Where as, on previous years; there was a sommelier who ran through the list and suggested wines. Then when we chose a bottle of sparkling, the server spilt every glass whilst pouring and did not have knowledge on how to pour a glass of sparkling (was unable to control the bubbles, hence an over pour onto the table everytime). Additional to this, we ended up having to pour our own wines due to lack of service (even with a half empty restaurant at 6:30pm). The entrees came out (a mix of the sausages) and they were amazing! Where it went more south was the mains. We all ordered either medium- rare or rare steaks and unfortunately every single steak was over cooked. Then when one of us mentioned this to the head waitress, we were laughed at and told that the steak was merely not to ‘OUR’ liking and was perfectly cooked. The head waitress then took the steak to the kitchen where all the chefs laughed at us, and said to bring it back to our table. We ate the over cooked steak, paid the bill and left.
For the price you pay, unfortunately this restaurant is not worth it. Many new steak restaurants for the same price have amazing service and better steaks! It’s really sad because this restaurant used to be amazing but they must have changed management. Definitely go to a restaurant like Victor Churchill where they are extremely knowledgeable, attentive and the steaks are cooked...
