Chen Yuen — Restaurant in Melbourne

It's nice they've got carpet, however, the portion size is small and you can get better value for $ elsewhere. There's also no option to purchase a larger bowl of rice (I mention this as it may have changed the experience for the better). It's undesirable to spend $~30 for a meal and walk out hungry. There's a KFC nearby which I dropped into and bought a half size meal immediately after, so it ended up being a more expensive night than Id planned (during a cost of living crisis). I also noticed they turned the heater off before we'd left, adding to the disappointment. Brrrrr - cold!! 😞 Not sure if they saved themselves 50c, but I'm much less likely to return as a result. If I could give minus 5 I would, this place has gone sooooo bad it's not funny. Seafood rolls entree 2 battered crabsticks in old oil and I mean very old Wtf Sweet and sour pork 10 pieces of pork deep fried in same old oil, disgusting. Special fried rice, overcooked, tasted sour, bean shoots were old, past use by date. And you charge me 32 bucks for this, shame on you. There are better places for Chinese food definitely not this one guys look around, save your money from food that is not...

My old time favourite restaurant. Been going to this restaurant since I was five years old and I’m now 56 years old. Of course two lots of people have owned this restaurant and the second lot are just as good but I do miss the original owners faces.

Food is great and whenever I visit it takes me back to my childhood memories sitting there with mum and dad and having my old time favourite of chicken omelette. How our tastes change.
