My favorite Koream bistro has moved from Abbotsford to Ivanhoe. It still is easy to find and with more beautiful signs and cozy atmosphere inside. And I loved generous parking lots behind the restaurant. The restaurant still serves the best K-chicken with great beer selection, which exactly matches with the meaning of the name of the restaurant, Chimac in Korean. Of course they serve the best K-bbq in Melbourne as well, with high quality beef and pork - coming with a variety of lovely Korean side dishes when you order a set menu. There has been a bit of adjustment on menu. No more All You Can Eat, but more various soups, rices, and noodles which can be added to your table. As a regular who tried most of their dishes, I would definitely say those are authentic Korean which worth to try each. A great news is they recently started to open lunch. Kimbap the Korean roll, which is very healthy food filled with diverse ingredients, is strongly recommended as it is quite hard to find a place serving great quality Kimbap in town. In Korea, it is very popular to have Kimbap with a noodle such as Korean Ramyun the instant noodle. If somebody asks me where to try the best K-food, my answer would always be Chimac, in another level compared to any other places...

Not worth going back to, very very poor. Advertised as an "All You Can Eat" but their trick is to not serve you anymore food. The waitress will take your original order and bring out the initial plates. After that we could not get anymore food so just settled the bill and walked out. Taking into consideration there is a time limit to dine, consider this. We asked for more rice from 2 separate waitresses. After 15 min one returned and told us that they need to cook some more so will be another 15 min. We asked for some more dipping sauce, were told they had run out and will bring a different one. It never arrived. We asked for more plates of chicken wings, beef, salads etc. After speaking to 2 separate waitresses and waiting another 20 min the plates still didn't come out. We watched other parties arrive and order their food. Their dishes were promptly brought out to them. When we had enough of the poor service and experience we decided to settle the bill. The waitress said "Sorry about that, we were busy". Very very poor service. Will never go back and tell all our friends. The "All You Can Eat" place "conveniently" runs out of food and doesn't serve...

You will walk out hungry from the "all you can eat" menu!

I had high expectation from Chimac given the high reviews from here. However their "all you can eat" menu is a lie! We were told we have 100 mins to eat the food but there is a catch. We are only allowed to re-order 3 "dishes" at any given time. I used quotation mark for dishes because each dish is only one single slice of meat! One slice!! If you order fried chicken wings, it's ONE wing per person. This may work if you dine along but we went as a group. We could only have 3 slices of meat at any given time!

Furthermore, you have to order food via a plastic card which they confisticate after each order and you must ask for the card back before you can order again.

Half way through they also took our scissors away so we couldn't cut the meat.

We were left hungry after a "all you can...

This place has only been opened for a week and on the night we visited there was only one waitress and one chef in the kitchen. The waitress said that they didn’t realise that they were going to be so busy. Even though there was only the two of them they both did an excellent job. The Korean chicken, sizzling pork and the kimchi fried rice are a must , absolutely delicious. Definitely coming back!😊

You can order either K-BBQ buffet service or a la carte dishes here. Corn cheese was great with an ample amount of cheese. The japchae had a generous portion and wasn't too oily. We also ordered fried chicken (forgot to take pic) and that was just okay. Food - 7 Service - 9 Vibe - 8 Price - $$
