Visited this place for the first time today. Have been craving sushi after seeing a main character on a Netflix series scoffing some down lol. Dropped in here on way to job and hadn't done my usual recon that I norm do (via reviews) before I buy from a shop. Knew the place was def Japanese, so thought should be fine though... Interior was very plain when I entered the shop, BUT don't let that fool you! Ordered 8 pieces of beef, egg, avo, and bean sushi. Only took around 10 min for the sweet Japanese couple to make, and could see the attention to detail in preparing it. For around just $17, the level of care that was put into providing me with this one-off small meal, was so impressive. These days, who works like that for that relatively small amount of return?? Just incredible. SUSHI WAS PERFECT and really hit the spot. If I lived close by, I'd def be a regular! Thank you very much to the lovely couple who didn't disappoint....

Love this local place where a Japanese couple make the best no frills nigiris. We order their medium platter every other week as a treat, the fish is always fresh, the tamago nigiris, the unagi is delicious are so tasty and delicious. Never been a fan of prawn nigiris normally, but this place has changed my mind, it's so fresh and plump, I it's become one of my favourites on the platter. The sushi rice is on point and slightly warm because we order in advance for pickup later, we really appreciate how it's made just before pickup, so fresh and slightly warm. It the highlight of our week! Thank you for being so consistently delicious! Might just make an order...

Hands down, the best Sushi takeaway in the city. All the food is made fresh, right there in front of you and the owners are two of the most delightful people... Always frendly and always there. They were telling me today they've been running the place for 30 years... From a selfish point of view I want them to run it forever. It's one of those places you know will never be the same without them. If you've never been, Go! I'm sure at some point they will want to retire and relax... Make sure you visit before they do! It's an iconic local Ivanhoe business, I'll miss them when...

I found out about this cute little shop through Google and couldn’t wait to visit. The owners are so adorable and polite. Service was a bit awkward, but it must have been the language barrier. They make everything fresh for you which is such an amazing deal considering the price. I was told fifteen minutes, but it came out in about three. Sushi was absolutely delicious and the packs have amazing variety. The fat rolls are my favourite - you won’t see little takeaway shops like this one make fat rolls with a variety of seafood. I couldn’t resist and ate it all at the train station.
