Vasko Restaurant Functions — Restaurant in Melbourne

With regard to response from owner regarding my perfectly legitimate complaint below I would dispute the following..

Your assertion that we ordered our food at 1.32pm is simply not correct. Our booking was for 1pm and given we were actually a few minutes early, you are claiming we did not order food for at least half an hour after we arrived which is completely inaccurate !! Given we were on a reasonably tight schedule, I estimate we made our order at approximately 1.15pm, certainly no later than that. If our order did not register till 1.32pm I would kindly suggest that is a internal problem or staffing issue at your end.

In addition, we made it patently clear to your waiting staff that we were unhappy at having to wait so long at least 20 minutes before our food arrived ,so if this was not relayed to the Manager by the time we were ready to leave, a good half an hour later, this maybe exemplifies that such legitimate complaints are not given any worth or are simply brushed off. Put simply, the Manager on duty should have been made aware of it.

I stress again, this is the first time I have had occasion to review a restaurant in such a way and we are not the sort of people who would create a scene or confrontation upon leaving or paying a bill.

My specific complaint with regard to how long we had to wait for our food is indeed warranted and legitimate, and I feel your response is inaccurate and reflects badly on your establishment.

Have never left restaurant review before but really disappointing experience at lunch...Restaurant didnt seem that busy at all but waited far too long.. a good hour or so.. for food to arrive after ordering. Asked to have feedback relayed to owner but he said nothing when we sorted bill, just gladly took payment. $30 lunch special which included glass of ordinary housd wine I think overpriced for what...

A hidden gem, surprised I hadn't heard of this restaurant before!

A few weeks ago, my work team and I had our Christmas dinner @ Vasko. On entering the restaurant we were immediately made to feel at ease. The hospitality and interpersonal skills were second to none. Vasko's (the owner) wife ensured that we were all comfortable and that all our dietary requirements were catered to. The atmosphere was pleasant and made for an enjoyable evening for all of us. The food was delicious, of quality and was plated up beautifully. I went for the Parma myself and it had to have been one of the best I've had to date. The batter wasn't burnt, nor was it too thick, and the meat was tender and succulent - definitely a winner.

Towards the end of the night, Vasko came out and met our table, checking that the food was to our liking - not one complaint to be heard and we had nothing but praise.

I'm not one to harp on about restaurants, and tend to only post reviews for the ones that have stood out (good and bad alike). This is one place I'll certainly be coming back to for a meal with my wife. Their website shows a function hall that also looks great. Something I'll be keeping in mind for future events.

Wow this restaurant was sensational. It was our first time here and we will be back with family and friends. Firstly, the service was outstanding- friendly - warm and fast. The food was the hero. So many high quality gluten free options I was in heaven. All our meals were GF - the entree calamari was fresh and lightly battered with a generous tasty sauce and the leek and 3 cheese arancini was delicious - we loved the sauce it came with too. The main dishes were outstanding - roasted salmon on roasted pan seared veggies omg - super tasty - and the Parma and chips were the best my husband has tasted. Thick chicken breast and a yummy cheese and herb topping - so good. Honestly if you want a great meal and warm family friendly service where the food is fresh, creative and delivered by staff who clearly love their job then Vasko should be your new...
